The Stag on the River is ideally located in a quintessential village close to Godalming and Guildford, just off the A3. A pub and dining establishment, which also offers boutique rooms, they form part of the award-winning Red Mist Leisure family of pubs.
Delicious fish and chips... Really friendly staff... Beautiful surroundings...Really chuffed to have found this pub on the river and I imagine it will be packed by the river in the summer! Hi Felicity.Thank you for your review, we are pleased to hear that you thought the fish & chips were delicious & that the staff were really friendly. Many Thanks Jackie

Our newly refurbished pub is your new friendly local. Great for a quick bite at lunch, a full three course dinner, or even just a swift pint. We are family & animal friendly, have a large garden & ensure we use the best of local produce in both food & bev
I have reviewed a reasonable number of restaurants and this is only the second 1 star score attributed. Reserved a table by phone, arrived a few minutes before the agreed time. I was shown to a table by the barman and then ....nothing. No menu, no offer of a drink. 12 minutes passed, waiting staff drifted through the restaurant, looking after a table of about 10 and another couple. There were no other diners present so it wasnât busy. Then a new diner arrives and is immediately given a menu. This was more than the bridge could bear. Waitress was approached who offered a half hearted apology accompanied by asking me if I had seated myself! On being told that I had not and I was leaving, the defaulting barman was identified, although Iâm not sure it was necessarily his fault. Result- one lost cover which Iâm sure wonât break their bank but is so irritating. On the plus side, a 1km walk took me back into the town and an excellent Thai restaurant (review to follow). And I was offered a menu and a drink on arrival. Dear TriskelionI very rarely respond to reviews but in this case I feel I really ought too as I have to completely disagree with your comments.I think it is fair to outline what happened with a bit more accuracy. You sat in the barn area which was busy and put your head down buried in your phone and no point did you make any attempt to make eye contact or speak to any of the waitresses. Unsurprisingly they thought you must be waiting for someone to join them. Instead of just making some attempt at communication you continued to stare at your phone until after 5 mins (as checked on CCTV) you decided to have an unbelievably rude rant at one of my staff and stormed out threatening to leave a poor review. My staff may have not realised that you were alone and ready but your reaction both at the time and since are quite frankly totally over the top. As soon as they realised they offered you a drink and menu but you clearly had no intention of accepting their apology.

A popular and friendly pub and dining establishment, The Royal Exchange is part of the award-winning Red Mist Leisure family and has a strong reputation in serving delicious, fresh, local and seasonal dishes and drinks that everyone will enjoy. The pub en
We took advantage of the cheap gins on offer and also ate the 'dine for £10' both were up to the usual high standard we've come to expect. It's so nice to have a quality pub/restaurant on our doorstep that has offers and is always of a high standard for both food and service.Hi danddbeesley1,Thank you so much for leaving us such a lovely review. Its always so good to hear that our customers are taking advantage of the various offers we put on, and appreciate the standard that we work so hard to acheive. We are excited to say that we have a new offer running on Monday nights, Build-A-Burger night! I highly recommend giving it a try. Thanks,Kerry

With stripped pine decor, a crackling open fire and muddy boots by the door â The Links Tavern is the quintessential country pub. Settle down to fabulous food and an array of real ales, served up in the cosy, welcoming surroundings of Liphookâs best pub.
Initial impressions were not so good, as barman seemed to be more interested in talking to customers, than attending usThen it improved. Food was good quality, and service was OK, although we had to go to the bar to order drinks, rather than at TableThank you for very much for your review, following your recent visit to The Links.Apologies that your initial impression wasn't so good, but we are glad to hear that you saw an improvement.Customer Service is at the forefront of our business and staff regularly receive refresher training in this field. If you were sitting in the bar area, unfortunately this is not an area to receive table service. However, if you were sitting in our restaurant, then table service is available to you.We look forward to seeing you again soon. Many thanks, Nicky

Located in the Surrey village of Chiddingfold, The Winterton is a public house from the team behind the award Witley White Hart Sporting a proper selection of beer from independent British breweries, over 750 combinations of Gin & Tonic and a collection o
We dropped in during a weekday evening. We hadnât booked but were in the area so took a chance. It was pleasantly busy and they were introducing a new locally distilled Gin with some free tasting. Both example we enjoyed and will recommend. The Baba Ghanoush was good but not as good as it should be - we make this at home and itâs way better than their version but enjoyable nonetheless. The Pork Belly from the smoker were very good with a great smokey taste and moist texture. Sides of Wok Fried Greens and Celeriac Coleslaw were historic. Desserts were very good and the right size considering the size of the mains. Service by the two girls was very good on the night given they were run off their feet. This is probably the 10th time weâve dined here and will come again.

Serving gorgeous food and drink to match the beauty of our surroundings, The Fox & Pelican is a Grayshott gem. Take a seat in the restaurant, by the fire, or in our garden after a day enjoying the Surrey countryside - or spent running about our play area
The Fox and Pelican is the only pub in the lovely village of Grayshott on the Hampshire/Surrey border near Hindhead and Haslemere. It is ideally located in the very centre of the village and presents extremely well. All the ingredients are there for a lovely lunch. But, oh no!Our drinks arrived a full ten minutes after they were ordered. Lunch arrived 45 minutes !!!! later and had very clearly been "sitting on the pass" for some considerable time. Our party had ordered four different meals. All four were seriously overcooked and then, seemingly, had dried out on the pass. Then there was the cardinal sin of all sins ...... cold, greasy chips. Our bill for one drink and one main course came to £20 per person.Hi Chris,Thank you for taking your time to leave a review. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a great time when you visited us at The Fox and Pelican. If you have the time, could you email me further details of your visit at [email protected] so I can look into this further and rectify the issues that you had.

Had a very nice meal - accommodating staff, food was excellent, and very good value. The pub has a homely feel with comfy seating and nice decor. On another occasion we would have tried out one of the board games. Beer was very good. Overall, excellent.thank you glad you enjoyed
