Firstly, let me say that all the staff I interacted with were completely lovely and that's why I give you three out of five. The high tea itself was a disappointment however - the sweet components were cloyingly sweet and had no flavour punches at all - the stuff in the glass was almost runny but no spoon supplied only a cake fork. The savoury was underwhelming - a sort of toasted sandwich square, and a bit of bread with a tiny flake of ham and minute snippets of gherkin. The pictures in the advertising and on the Grabone Voucher were not indicative of what we received and I suspect it's a case of getting bums on seats with an offer and then scaling back the offering to "compensate" for giving a discount. When will the hospo industry see that it defeats the purpose to throw money at what is essentially advertising (the discount voucher) only to under deliver? Newsflash - you've just chucked your advertising dollars away along with the chance of seeing your customer return or recommend. Dumb.

Date night and I had been wanting to take my wife to 88 for several years but we had just not gotten round to it.. just as well we booked. Parking nearby and walking past three empty restaurants then opening the door to 88 and finding it packed to the rafters with happy sounding punters, was a very good start. They were really busy for a cold Thursday night. We settled down to the menu and selected entrees and mains. Mailyn got her Mango crusher and declared it wonderful whilst I had a Garage project Fugazi, a tasty lower alcohol beer. There selections of wines look great too.The entrees, duck and fish cakes and prawn were stunning and the the main meal with the fish wrapped in banana leaves and my rice crepe filled with prwans were divine. The service was lovely, the waiting staff really helpful and not over bearing at all and we used our Entertainment Book Card and got a decent discount as well.As we left we felt like booking in again tomorrow, the whole experience was really that good. We will be back, with bells on. 5 starsHi, thank you for taking your wife to our restaurant, we are happy that you stopped by. We are excited that you enjoyed our food and service. We hope to see you again soon and try something else,as our menu changes often now with Luke (the original head chef) back in the kitchen doing what he's enjoy. Thanks again.

This was our first visit to Spring Kitchen. The staff are top notch - very attentive but not over the top. They laughed with us while also maintaining a very high standard of professionalism. I wasn't drinking so they constantly kept my water topped up - which very rarely happens nowadays. The meal sizes aren't huge but the flavours - wow! We ordered two sides which we shared amongst four and it was plenty. This is definitely fusion to a very high standard. The orders for steak were delivered cooked to perfection; the beef cheek just melted in your mouth and the lamb cutlet for a starter - divine. I haven't had a meal like this in Wellington for many years. Very highly recommended.Kia ora famadven,Thanks a lot for your review and your kind words. We are delighted you chose us for dinner and that the staff were able to make your experience even more special. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Dropped in here with some friends for a catch up and bite to eat. Weâd thought ahead and booked, which is almost essential as this place is popular. And with good reason.A diverse range of authentic South East Asian flavours are on offer, with something to please all tastes. The squid was tender, with a delicious spicy mayo, duck salad with orange was refreshing and bright, pork belly meltingly tender and Iâd challenge anyone who says they donât like the chicken wings.Itâs all served up with a freshness of service thatâs unpretentious.Recommended
