As residents of Hua Hin, we take our constant search for good restaurants very seriously. So often, wherever in the world, one finds oneself eating overpriced, poorly cooked food that could just as easily have been prepared much better at home. This IS NOT the case here!SMILE was opened recently by a French/Thai couple and became an instant hit for people from all over the world and Europe in particular. The Thai wife is the chef and her creative talent is only matched by her cooking excellence. Wonderful starters - Asian Samosas Thai style, wonderful puff pastry wrapped chicken and vegetable, mains including barbecued prawns on skewers, pork filet mignon, various chicken creations and freshly landed fish of the day. All mains come with the option of rice, potato or spaghetti and fresh lightly cooked vegetables.Frank, the husband of the team, is a Frenchman with extensive restaurant expertise. He is a warm, friendly man and an excellent host. Above all else, all their fabulous food is at prices that are incredibly reasonable. His wine list is constantly improving in selection, quality and value. Our favourite eating place.Book to avoid disappointment!

We tried the lychee lemon, and the pineapple smoothie. Both were refreshing and well balanced, not too sweet. Similarly, the pineapple jam which came with the toast and eggs was nicely balanced. The decor is clean and minimalist, very tasteful. There is a different herb in a small pot as table decoration. There are a number of nice touches, 3 types of sugar/sugar syrup for the coffee. I enjoyed the Thai style scrambled eggs with pork mince. We will definitely be back!

What looks on the outside like a little antiques shop turns out to be a wonderful little restaurant with eclectic furnishings and delicious menu offerings.We came here on the recommendation of some friends, and were very glad we tried it. Out back behind the store is a LARGE outdoor restaurant, and indoor air-con glassed space for groups, or you can also opt to sit IN the store amongst all the fascinating little items for sale and browse while you eat.The restaurant focuses on Thai food. This is only restaurant we have found in Hua Hin that offers peaflower in its cooking - which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the peaflower rice and next time will try some of the peaflower drinks.The wine was terrific and all of us enjoyed our food - which was as artfully presented to match our artful decor.We will definitely come back.NOTE: There is currently a lot of highway construction directly in front of the restaurant which makes it look daunting to get in and out. Don't worry - you have to get in and out slowly but it is WORTH it to come for a visit.

A fantastic quirky cafe, with the best meal we've had in Thailand. The food was divine. The cafe is eco friendly, with metal straws and items for sale to support the eco focus, as well as unusual items which make great mementos of your holiday or gifts. We were delighted to see the eco friendly focus - well done to the owners and staff for this. Other food places could learn a lot from this cafe. We highly recommend that you go there, but remember to apply your mosquito repellant. The cafe is set in a lovely leafy environment, meaning there are lots of mosquitos.
