Oviedo is a treasure trove of Spanish religious architecture, dotted with monasteries, cathedrals and shrines that date all the way back to the 9th century. Soak up the rich history of the city by experiencing El Fontán Market, the San Isidoro el Real Church and the Castle of San Juan de Priorio, then shift aesthetic gears and check out modern architectural gems like the Prince Felipe Auditorium and the Jirafa building.

I had a very late lunch there - no other restaurant had any seats I could take, so I was worried about the quality. I had a lovely meal and beer and even had the creamy milky rice for dessert. The waitress was super nice!

Gastrobar current market and international cuisine, imaginative and actual, ideal for first drink after lunch or dinner, ambient music
El Loco del Pelo Rojo was not at all what I was expecting, having been taken to a very typical Asturian restaurant the night before, I was expecting something similar for lunch! Looking at the menu I was most confused and sceptical, but with a little help from the waiter we ordered some amazing dishes to share between the three of us, the first being Breaded aubergine stuffed with a crab mixture and topped with a seaweed salad, absolutely delicious, second dish was a vegetable and prawn stirfry, portion was a little small, but it made up for it with taste and thrd to arrive was Presa Iberica beautifully pink in side and served with a delicious Coriander based chimichurri style sauce and chips - again mouth watering. The waiter then talked us in to trying one of their signature tapas - Croquetas Kimchi which were delicious, I need to go again when super hungry as there were so many interesting dishes that I want to try. The waiter was great, I was lunching with friends from Oviedo, but the waiter spoke English and they also had menus translated into English. It was busy and a fun atmosphere and unusual Van gogh style decor. Definately worth a visit if you don't mind eating non traditional food.

We spent a lovely evening in this restaurant. The food was delicious, we had a chickpea stew with shrimps and black rice with fish, both really savoury. The staff was also very nice and helpful. We would definitely recommend this place.

Had dinner here and for the most part it was good. Friendly staff who tried their hardest to explain in English the menu options even though I spoke a bit of Spanish. Prices are reasonable. Not sure it merits such a high ranking but it's a good place to eat.

Doña Concha Restaurant is the most personal project of Chef Miguel Ãlvarez De Labra who pays homage to his grandmother Concha. We are very proud to present this proposal of urban and informal tapas with a traditional base.

Great restaurant. Four of us visisted on a Friday lunchtime. Even though it is a small establishment the tables were reasonably spaced. There was menu del dia but opted for dishes from the menu... Croquetas, Endives and Cous cous salad were spot in an beautifully presented. Portions are large. I shared a pork and chicken with cous cous wok. Wine was excellent. Managed to get through two bottles of red (Habla de Silencio and Petit Hiperia). Considering the size of the meals and variety of the menu, which is good, the price was reasonable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

Made a real change of menu, badly needed after a week eating in Asturias. Here are people trying to make interesting food with taste combinations you're not going to get in a standard restaurant. Very friendly and attentive service and had no problem spending time going through the choices with non-Spanish speakers.

Bistronomie, it is the fusion between words and Bistro Gastronomie. The union between a small hotel where cafes and affordable meals and the so-called haute cuisine are served. SALAZOGUE offers a fun dining experience in the old town of Oviedo.
After 10 days in Spain eating great traditional food we were looking for something different. This small intimate restaurant gave us just that. Sharing plates with an adventurous edge. Seaweed salad. Black lasagna. And a rice pudding that was totally exquisite. Highly recommend for people looking for some reasonably priced creative cooking in Oviedo
