Reviews on Fusion food in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. The Yucatan capital has both colonial and Mayan treasures to discover. Nearby ruins at Uxmal give some insight into the lives of the predecessors of the conquistadores, who arrived in 1542. Mayan culture is also still evident in Merida's daily life and in the many colorful festivals celebrated here.

If you prize ambiance and trendy over quality of food this is a place for you.The menu is a fusion of "japanese" with Peruvian/Oriental cuisine. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. The service was awful. They were nice about it by offering a free dessert in compensation. The place was filled with young people having a lot of fun. The music was too loud.An apology, thank you for the comments to improve for you.

I was lucky enough to be walking by the Parque late one afternoon. Hunger pangs hit - so I decided to look for something not directly in the Parque. So I found LaLinda a few blocks down. Unfortunatly for me the menu posted outside was in Spanish - of which I do not speak or read . But, I decided to take a chance and so glad I did. A gentlemen who appeared to be the manager spoke some English and walked me thru choices. I choose the Pork Belly . I'm also not a beer drinker, but they appeared to have local craft beers available. The Tacos arrived - looking delicious! 3 different salsas were provided and they explained each there was a sweeter, a mild heat and a heavier heat. 3 Tacos / 3 Salsas tried one on each. All were delicious! Now for the kicker the Tacos, a coke and tip less than $150 peso. Heck in the states a small portion of crispy pork belly as an appetizer would run me anywhere from $15 to $25 and would not have been as good.Hello Jeanne! Thank you very much for your review. We're very glad you visited us and hope to see you back again in your next visit to our beautiful city. Regards, Rodrigo.

After a decade of coming to Merida and finding many new and wonderful restaurants, we discovered a newly opened, upscale 5 star restaurant & boutique hotel in an unlikely part of Centro. The dining room is intimate, seats 18, with view into the kitchen. It is in a small hotel, yet to officially open, with a lovely restaurant where the food is art and the staff is exceptional. The food was exquisite in every sense. Unique and truly a 5 star dining experience that you would expect in LA or NYC. The ceviche was a twist on corn, not the traditional fish. The filet of beef, was served with the most amazing mole` that we have experienced, it was so superb with a deep chocolate taste and a spicy finish, that the staff noted our enthusiasm and brought a small dish of the sauce. It was unlike anything every called mole that we have experienced anywhere. The fish was steamed in a banana leaf and served with a delicious risotto comprised of local ingredients. Dessert was papaya creme brulee' that was lovely. Menu is available only in Spanish, the wine list is very limited although there is a full bar available. Staff is amazing and incredibly attentive. The preparation of the meal is a component of the visual interest from the intimate dining room into the glassed in kitchen. It will be worth watching the development and interest in this restaurant on our return trips to Merida as food this beautiful and artistic will be on the radar of the gourmand visitor soon.

In a city with no shortage of fine dining choices Rosas & Xocolate always ranks as one of my favorites. The professional service, stylish atmosphere, and excellent food combine to make for a great dining experience. Modern Mexican cuisine is the star here, yet there are French touches too, like an excellent cheese course that perfectly pairs with a well selected wine list. I highly recommend this restaurant.Hello Jeffrey, greetings from Rosas & Xocolate. Thank you so much for your opinion. We're so glad to serve an excellent taste and eye like yours. It is located at a nice square that has several options of restaurants. We went for lunch and took advantage of the lunch menu that included a drink to choose and a main dish, both for USD. $ 7.00, an excellent value for money. We ordered shrimp enchiladas, which were very good, a portion of four enchiladas with a delicious Yucateco flavor. Also a âpicañaâ tacos with guacamole and black tortilla. I think there were other options with more flavor to choose from. The drink was an orangeade, freshly squeezed. All staff very friendly and attentive.Hello Emile DGreetings from México, we thank you so much for your comment and for taking the time of writing such a positive review of us. We really enjoyed Ave Del Paraiso. We had dinner here twice during our one week stay. Everything we had was just over the top fantastic. The owners are super welcoming and care about their guests. The food is prepared with great care, high quality ingredients, and a beautiful presentation. Eating Thai food in a beautifully restored colonial home was amazing. Thank you Alma Rosa for being so sweet to us. I look forward to eating here again in November.
