Find out what French restaurants to try in Yaounde. Yaounde, a city of colorful open-air street markets and international embassies, is the second largest metropolis in Cameroon, and the country’s capital. Founded as an ivory trading post, the city still handles the production and distribution of some of the country’s main exports. The city is also a center of Cameroon’s culture, housing the National Museum, the AFHEMI Museum, and the Benedictine Museum of Mont-Febe, all three of which seek to preserve the country’s traditional arts and crafts.

Situé au centre même de la ville le restaurant La Terrasse vous offre une terrasse couverte une salle climatisée et un jardin ombragé.
The restaurant isn't one of the most popular places in town. A pity, because the food is good and prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere is cosy, the whole setting tasteful and in it's bareness almost stylish, the background music - Swing! - different to what or who else is serving food in town. You can choose to sit on the terrace (La Terrasse!) behind the restaurant's wall sheltering it from the road or in a neat, dimmly lit backgarden on wooden furniture. The menu isn't big but gives you the choice of a sensible variety of meet and fish dishes, Cameroonian dishes, pizzas and pasta dishes as well as meet fondue - to my knowledge the only place in town. They are open at lunch time and offer a reasonable lunch menu.

The staff were very polite and welcoming. The cocktails are very tasty. I had a Tequila sunrise and it is relatively cheap and made from fresh oranges. The entrecôte was massive and very tasty and my uncle loved his Royal Pizza. Located right on the road and it seems very secured. Would definitely recommend.

You have to know where the place is, even once you are in front of the building, you can't imagine it is a restaurant. The food is really good and you can't compare the 'soupe au poirot', the 'sole meunière' or ravioli with what you get in any other restaurant in town. It is a little pricy, but the food it worth the price. The Belgian cook is very present what gives the restaurant something extra. The table setting and decoration is very nice.Dear M. Els,We are thankful for taking time to share your experience at Quare Non Restaurant and are flattered to know that it has been really enjoyable.Wishing to welcome you again in our Restaurant for a new culinary experience,Kind Regards,THE MANAGEMENTRESTAURANT QUARE NONGOLF - YAOUNDE

So good that I went there two nights running. Friday night mellow jazz is excellent. Good, well presented food with a french influences. Atmosphere is intoxicating: open arrangement with jasmine-scented gardens and candles. Staff are charming and proprietor Nathalie is one of a kind. In my opinion, among the top 3 restaurants in Yaounde.

While in Yaoundé we decided to try a bunch of restaurants. This one was definitely our worse experience. Tables are way too close to each other's which is not great for intimacy. We asked the water and most of the food is imported (even food you can find in Cameroon). The food wasn't bad but given the price I was expected much better.

The location is perfect (in the center), there is a parking and the terrace is incredible. The menu is attractive and you have a lot of options, and the foos is tasty. It is my favourite because of the service... the staff are the fastest in town considereing the slow cameroonian style. If I am rushing this is my first option.

What a beautiful restaurant! Kajazoma's expansive seating areas allow guests to choose the area of the restaurant that best fits their needs. The menu is broad with lots of options. Sit in the upper area to receive drinks from the bar. The live music is fun and adds a lot to the restaurant.Note: service can be slow and the pizza takes a long time. The timing isn't always great -- my pizza came out 10 minutes after everyone else's meals arrived.

This is an absolute must. Great setting, beautiful décor, cosy, elegant, etc... everything that you want to have a great night out. The welcome is immaculate, the staff are super good and the owner is very friendly and attentive. Then the food... Simply the best for the moment in Yaoundé. Nothing really for vegetarians on the menu but that was not a problem. The Chef made fresh Gnocchis with a tomato and basil sauce that was to die for... (okay we did warn them a couple of hours before showing up). Desserts are simply wonderful. I cannot recommend this place enough. Also has a private dinning room with sitting room for 6 if you're looking for privacy.

Young, fashionable people join business people and guests to enjoy lunch or a late afternoon meal at this sunny Yaounde restaurant beside the Hilton Yaounde hotel's swimming pool. Sip a local cocktail as you enjoy the beach decor and African paintings. Tr
Stayed a couple of times at the Hilton where this restaurant is and actually have mixed feelings... One day it is great the other a bit average and bland. Staff are super friendly, service is great, setting is wonderful... Just not sure... and being a 5-star hotel, it's not cheap.Dear FrediREP,We have received with great interest all your remarks and we thank you.We are delighted that you enjoyed our service and the helpfulness of the staff; and on the other hand sorry that you are not convinced by the quality of the food we offer. However we are happy to know that you have appreciated our staff as well as the service. We hope to receive you again in our restaurant and above all to convince you by the quality of our food.Yours sincerelyClaire Secretary

Named after Cameroon's famous safou fruit tree, this bright, contemporary Yaounde restaurant has views over the Hilton Yoaunde hotel's gardens. Savor international buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner with nightly themes, such as international and loca
I enjoyed the afternoon buffet a great deal. The Safoutier dining experience in Yaoundé is well known, particularly for its entrées and desserts. On this occasion they didn't disappoint. The pasta bar is also very good. I think it would be worthwhile if they also had a buffet towards the end of the day, so you could justify a heavy meal after work and not in the middle of the work day. Still a good experience nonetheless. The staff are also very polite and well trained. KudosDear Francisnm237,Thank you for your interesting feedback. We are verry happy to that you enjoyed your Hilton dining experience in our restaurant. Thank you also for your warm comment about our polite and well trained staff. We share with them your satisfaction. We have took note of your wish about a buffet towards at the end of the day.
