We had eaten at the Sultan in Verneuil and were pretty pleased with our expereince there. So after seeing that The Madeleine had a higher rating (and a more expensive menu), we were looking forward to a great french meal. Unfortunatly we were dissapointed.Five of us visited, 3 of us selecting from the Terroir menu at 27 Euros and 2 of us from the Normandy menu at 30 Euros. I think the menus went up to about 65 Euos for the full tasting selction. My advice is to give the Normandy menu a wide berth. The starter and main course are both deep-fried. And whilst the starter was tasty, it was actually too large. Then came a really stodgy, bland main course. So iImagine a couple of Findus crispy seafood pancakes to start and Tesco chicken corden-bleu to follow - and you'll get the idea.To be fair the Terroir menu was much better, but not exceptional. Add to that a rather Sterile atmosphere - and we wished we had gone back to the Sultan for a second night.Paul

Le Saumon seems like a step back in time, as if it's menu was written several decades ago. The buffet offered as a starter contains such items as halved boiled eggs and a range of unimaginative salads. The main courses were basic -- OK, but nothing more. In fairness, it is not expensive -- 18 euros for three courses was good value. The wine was inexpensive. And the Normandy apple tarte and ice cream was very good.

Stopped off for lunch driving from Paris. Restaurant wasn't busy but a few scattered tables when we arrived about 1pm. Once again, maybe they assumed I was English or the fact my wife is Japanese, the reception was luke-warm at best.I enjoyed my confit duck while my wife had the lunch of the day. Her chicken was dry, unseasoned and lacked flavour. Even though you could choose the style of potatoes you wanted, the unfriendly waitress just assumed we both wanted chips (or it was the easiest for her to mark down, who knows?) The creme brulee was excellent though.Food not bad but what was becoming a common theme for us in Europe was either exceptional service or at the other end of the scale, being treated like trespassers. On this occasion the waitress managed a half smile when we paid the bill and left..

The gourmet restaurant Clos overlooking the park, its ancient trees and the Eiffel inspired greenhouse invites you to spend a moment of relaxation or romance. A living room is provided with paintings by Michel Roucheray mounted on 6 large panels that illu
Fantastic food served in a wonderfully decorated dining room. I am not familiar enough with Normandy specialities to know if the dishes were traditional but certainly the ingredients were local. It was hard to choose from the interesting menu and the extensive wine list was an education. The staff were very attentive and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and elegant and rather special.

I dined here for lunch with a colleague and we were greeted very warmly. The establishment is very modern and is very well kept which adds to the overall feel of the place. The Menu is very good offering an assortment of starters, mains and desserts. I had Quiche to start which was very nice and there was just enough for a starter. To follow I had roast chicken with green beans, there wasn't a lot of chicken and it was quite dry but the green beans and the sauce it came with were delicious. Overall, a very nice little restaurant.

Came here for a crepe and was not disappointed. Everything is prepared freshly and cooked at the back of the restaurant. It is quite small but not overcrowded. The usual buz that you find in all French restaurants is here. People enjoying a cheap meal in good company. We liked it for sure.

Lunchtime, rural France, very hot day. We came across this little gem, opposite the level crossing and passed by the enormous trucks that drive around Europe. Many of which were parked nearby as their drivers ate lunch at the brasserie â always a good sign. The service was exceedingly attentive and the set menu seemed to stretch on all afternoon. For about a head we had about 6 courses including tasty wine and cidre. The food is simple and tasty, margueze sausages with couscous for example. Between courses we were given little bowls of yoghurt and cream to refresh our palates. These small French restaurants shame our expensive English, pumped-up and pretentious ones.

Recommended by our host and we had a superb meal. One of our party is. Vegetarian andthe main course platter presented to her brought an enormous smile to her face. Everything ordered was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Excellent French cooking without fuss. The chef patron was absolutely charming and made us feel very welcome.

I selected Le Patate Gourmande based on other tripadvisor reviews it did not disappoint! It was the perfect place for dinner for 10 rather tired people...we had travel (flying and driving) from various parts of the world ahead of a family wedding the next day. We booked in advance to make sure the could accommodate 10 of us. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and were very quick at bringing out our orders. The menu is so vast that it was tough to pick one dish to eat....but provides plenty of good excuses to go back again...which a couple of the family did for lunch the next day! The pizzas are massive, the baked potatoes are amazing, the steak was cooked to perfection and the fondu was fantastic! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a quick dinner/lunch with great service and extremely good value for money!
