I had an absolutely fantastic birthday dinner at this restaurant. We went because I read the reviews & La Guingutte did not disappoint! We live in Saly and I get very bored of all the restaurants serving the same dishes. Not so here, where they had creative an impeccably prepared entrees and plats. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back! Only one minor issue, the restaurant is hard to find as it's tucked away on a side street and even locals weren't sure where it was when we stopped to ask directions in the neighborhood.

Living in the Saly region means you are surrounded with overpriced, pretentious French restaurants. Not so Couleurs de Senegal which is a relaxed place and a favorite with locals for consistently delicious food at a reasonable price. Dining is under an open-sided, airy thatched roof or poolside (which we prefer because so many French customers smoke). Our favorite dishes are the coriphane avec sauce basilic, the tagliatelle carbonara, and especially the seafood paella (when they have it- if you have a large party you can call ahead and request it).

We ended up in this place as a last-minute solution in a changed itinerary (or the lack thereof). Turned out to be a pleasant experience: clean and pleasant room, small pool, very decent breakfast. Staff don't or hardly speak English, but are friendly and welcoming.

International and French cuisine, authentic pizza in a lush garden or indoor, original and exotic decoration, quality service.
Delightful decor both inside this recently-opened (mid-2014) restaurant and in the perfectly maintained floral garden/terrace out front. The French owners (with monsieur en cuisine and madame en salle) ensure that food is of a very high standard and that the service is efficient. A warm ambiance is evident between the staff and this also contributes to ensuring an enjoyable and relaxed dining experience here at L'O Ã la Bouche. Live music an dancing on some evenings, too.

This restaurant served us a nice lunch (the chevre frais salad was beautiful and good but no real flavor) but none of our meals were spectacular. The service was very attentive and I enjoyed the passion fruit digestive offered to us complimentary at the end of the meal.

On the main street well lit at night you cant miss it. Seating on roadside veranda for 20 people or so on tables for four with as many again inside, although inside isn't really descriptive of the open windows allowing cool breeze on a hot night. Reasonable menu choice, all in French, English not available. We choose a local dish each, yassa poulet and yassa poisson. Basically fish or chicken with rice and yassa, the sauce. This was really nice....a sort of combination of mango chutney with onions....sweet but very pleasant. There was a choice of desserts which we did not try. On a second visit we had sole and fires, basic but quite good. Reasonably priced and reasonable quality locally run place with wholesome food, perhaps a more challenging order next time. Main 2500 and 3000CFA per person 4.5 to 5 Euro.

Seemingly upscale place in this off the beaten path area. The owner is friendly and the food also reasonable. There are so few upmarket places. It's necessarily a place to go if you stay a couple of days.

I had an amazing time at the 3 gorilles restaurant which offered a great selection of sea food and fish options and also for meet lovers they offered grandiose steaks which were not very expensive but very good quality. The restaurant has an amazing ambiance is close to the beach and the staff is very friendly and welcome. A place must go if you are in la Somone!

Jean Marie, small roadside restaurant, four or so tables on a patio frontage. We don't speak French so expected to encounter some difficulties in ordering food, which proved to be the case. A restaurant with no menu ! So we could only see the one dish advertised on the balckboard, Frutta de Mar in a crepe with cheese sauce. It was large, easily sufficient for a main dish. And absolutely delicious. Fish, small prawns, calamari, all encloses in a light crepe with a beautiful cheese sauce. 5000cfa per person, about 7.5 Euro. If we understand only one dish it had better be really good, and this was.
