Set beside the Canal this restaurant provides fine dining at affordable prices, it is cooked and presented with great care all our choices from the set menu were delicious and we left feeling we had had a very special meal to remember. Staff are very attentive without being intrusive. It is a popular spot so best to book.

If this restaurant is on the road overlooking the lock at Salleles-d'Aude then I have got the right place. We had a very good, basic lunch here whilst cruising on the canal. My friend had been sent ahead to get a table as it was packed whilst we moored up. Thinking she was asking for 4 menus she was actually ordering 4 menus of the day. So by the time the rest of us arrived our starters were on the table. I couldn't therefore tell you what the choice was like but the food we had was very good and great value - 13 euros for starter, main, pudding, a slice of cheese and glass of wine. We would like to have gone again when we passed on the way back but it wasn't open weekend lunchtimes. I think this could be because it was full of workers when we were there before - their main lunchtime clientele who aren't around at weekends.

Visited Chez Herve on two occasions whilst staying in Salleles D'Aude & on both visits the food was above average, but there is little or no ambiance despite its lovely setting alongside the Canal du Midi. Very busy on the first night & service was a little slow & not very obliging, but had improved dramatically on the second visit, altho' it was a much quieter night. Have sampled their Duck with Grape sauce which was delicious, although probably needed some vegetable additions, as the plate only contained a duck leg with sauce & a basket of chips. Great flavour tho'. On the second visit, I tried the salmon salad which was huge, flavoursome & fantastic & was very enjoyable. The other guests tried the cassoulet, & on the second visit selected two of the formula choices. Spouse tried the pizza Royale which was huge & nicely presented. On both occasions our meal was accompanied with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon which was very popular. Overall, the food is pretty good, but at times the service lacked friendliness & the place has little ambiance.

We met friends here for a few drinks and i have to say that it is a lovely venue. Perfect to sit and watch the goings on on the canal. Friendly staff and good service. We enjoyed our visit and will certainly return when we visit again.

We recently stayed in Mirepeisset and ate here twice. This is a lovely location right next to the canal. The first time I had cassoulet and the second time I had steak. It's probably a bit more expensive that other local offerings and I thought the cassoulet probably was worth it and the steak not so much. Beer is good and wine is nice too. My wife and our friend had the 5 desserts tray and it was a bit weird.Service is traditional French - lackadaisical.

This was our first visit and having seen some mixed reviews we were a little apprehensive, but the setting was very pleasant, nice ambience and the menu looked reasonable.Have to say we had a very pleasant lunch......service was fine if a little distant, so could be a bit more engaging with customers but it was fine and so i'm being a bit picky. The wine list reasonably extensive with many choices very reasonable priced. Beers and wines by the glass well priced also. The menu again reasonably wide and varied with both a la carte and a series of set menus. The food we ordered ranged from king crab and avocado starters to mains of lamb cutlets, duck breast, tuna tataki style and sea bass...all well presented, fresh and well prepared - no complaints. Would we return? Yes definitely.

Coming by bike, car or boat tis little summer restaurant by the canal and lockside is charming. The food is simple but fresh, nicely prepared and presented and just the thing for a pleasant lunch in the shade with a pichet of rose on a hot day.....ok so it doesn't have to be hot but it's cute. Staff are pleasant and helpful, and it won't cost you the earth. Good value, all round, we'd return anytime.

We happened here by chance one day while looking for a house to buy in this region. It was Sunday and almost everything was closed. This little town is right on the canal and tiny but this restaurant was one of our MOST favorite meals we had the entire week in France. So I am a bit of a foodie and a food snob so when I tell you this meal rivaled the one we had in Paris, it is great! We each had the chicken in cream sauce with mushrooms and the mashed potatoes- probably the best potatoes ever! But the most memorable part of our lunch was the chocolate cake, OMG! I think for the three of us with 3 courses with wine our bill was 60 Euros total!

We are a vintage Citroen HY food truck set up for the summer in our own lovely garden .
A large group of us enjoyed the Indian BBQ which Jean Marie hosts a few times during the summer season, plenty of flavours and array of meat, seafood, salads to please everyone. Jean Marie and Ariane provide a beautiful setting in which to enjoy their delicious food.A bonus that night was the perfect spot to enjoy the fantastic firework display at the end of the evening.Would highly recommend this restaurant, open every evening at the moment serving Mediterranean/fusion food which changes on a weekly basis.

Stylish, seasonal Mediterranean cuisine by chef Valere Diochet . Our menu changes frequently to take advantage of the best seasonal local produce. A relaxed restaurant not molecular gastronomy or liveried staff. But super fresh Mediterranean dishes and br
Les carrasses is exactly that we were missing here in our region. Beautiful property, breathtaking views... modern and traditional at the same time. Most of the clients are anglophones, so the menue is friendly to international tastes. Possibility to drink at the bar, eat outside or inside. Menue changes often. We remarked that the food was of higher quality during the low season. Looks like the chief struggles to meet the high demand at the high season and not always gets a success in it.Two main negative points: the service and the price of wines. The service really needs to be improved. As for the prices of wines... well, guys, we know as well as you that we are in the region where the wines cost pea-nuts. So, we are quiet shocked not to find any single bottle on the wine list cheaper than 28 euros (+++). This only reduces the consolation. Apply the fare price (not multiplied by 5) and clients will order 2 bottles instead of one. Otherwise nice property, we will be back and advise our friends to go there.Hi Mary,Thanks very much for your review. We're glad you liked the Château so much, though we're sorry you didn't feel that the service was up to scratch on this occasion - we work hard to ensure excellent service at all times, and have brought your comments to the attention of the team. We're a bit surprised by your comments about the price of the wine though. We pride ourselves on showcasing the best of Languedoc wines at great value for money, with the wines starting at â¬19 for our own Les Carrasses cuvees; We have 35 different bottles at less than â¬28 (more than half the list!). Perhaps you were looking at the list of daily specials? In any case, we look forward to seeing you again at Les Carrasses, and the opportunity to show you some of the great, reasonably priced wines we offer. Thanks again for your review.
