This place is a good solution when you feel that you cannot eat another large meal, a common problem in a region where food and wines are excellent and outstanding restaurants are many. If you think that you need a break, and find that even a cafe (bar) has too large portions, this is the place to try. The food is excellent and in manageable quantities, and the staff is nice and friendly. Furthermore, the prices are very moderate.

This is Damien, in the kitchen, that will delight your taste buds. Lovers of soils, it is working to offer a generous and kitchen full of flavors that will transport you. Focusing on fresh, local and authentic! He values ââthe French terroirs and showcase
Everyday fare at decent prices served efficiently. The paleron de veau au vin jaune et morilles was delicious. I chose to have it with pasta as a side and it was delicious. My husband had the crayfish and asparagus raviole and though he still liked them a lot, he thought my dish was better.

Directly across the street from the Musee du Sel of the UNESCO World Heritage Site salt works in Salins les Bains is a charming 19th century hotel. On the second floor of the hotel is an equally charming restaurant serving a classic local menu in a pleasant, friendly contemporary dining room with a view of the ancient salt works. The prices are very reasonable, we had the menu of the day for 16 Euro which included three generous courses. The cheese plate was outstanding. The trout was so fresh we actually saw the chef catching it with a net in a huge rocky fish tank in the foyer of the hotel as we entered. The service was excellent and the ambience welcoming and friendly.

Dreadful bar. They donât give out a wine list but instead telling you that they serve white, red or rose. Embarrassing I a wine region no? But they do actually have decent wine if you could actually get served. When you look around you will see every punter with an empty glass. Shameful in a town with limited choices.

We were staying in the hotel above the restaurant and wanted somewhere on our first night in Salins that was good quality without any stuffyness. We picked right. The waitress was cheerful and friendly without being in the least pushy and overbearing. The food was cooked to perfection. I had stuffed mushrooms to start and was in seventh heaven. The rest of the meal followed on in the same vein. DON'T go if you are in a hurry. This is a place to experience great food and service. Being Brits (well only in part. My Mum was born in Salins) we were early in the evening and were not rushed at all. By the time we left there were quite a few people in there. Mostly couples and some of those were obviously there for the romantic atmosphere.Absolutely splendid!
