I stopped here purely by chance on a wet chilly Monday, when a lot of places are closed in France.I had a wonderful selection of the freshest seafood on their seafood platter including fabulous oysters, crab, prawns stc.The service was good and the views out to sea great despite the weather.I would very much like to return hereJonathan Nettleton

We popped in for lunch (with dog) and were warmly welcomed. Young energetic and incredibly friendly staff. The food was excellent and was a blend of traditional and modern French cuisine. Food was lovingly cooked and excellent. The cafe gourmands was awesome.

The food in this restaurant was quite good with a reasonable selection of formules. But the service was bizarre. The restaurant manager was seriously disinterested in his clients and looked severely put out whenever new potential clients arrived at the entrance! Another young chap struggled with service - we almost wanted to help him by opening the bottle of wine ourselves. Another young chap must have had previous training and usually salvaged the situation with both efficiency and a smile. But the whole mis-management of the place would have merited an amusing chapter in a novel! Being on holiday, it was quite funny - but might have become irritating if staying more than one night!

We hadn't visited this restaurant for a couple of years, but on two recent visits we've had very enjoyable meals, and so I should update my previous review! In August we visited, together with numerous family members, for an impromptu early dinner. Our 8 year old great nephew was keen to see the kitchen and meet the chef on our arrival, which was happily accomplished thanks to the friendly and helpful patronne. She even found him a chef's hat to take away!We enjoyed some of the best moules we've tasted in St Valery at the Eden, on two separate visits. The food chosen by the other family members was fine too, and the bill was certainly not excessive. In summary, I'd say give the Eden a try, especially for moules frites!

We dined here for lunch. The restaurant has a wide ranging choice of menus. We both had the â¬29 menu and were very pleased with what we had. The restaurant is pleasantly appointed. The tables were nicely spaced out although the tables for two were on the small side.

We had to wait 15 mins to order anything, even a drink. The staff were disinterested, only taking interest in people they knew whilst offering a slow impersonal service to others. The menu was pretty boring - we went for three different pizzas, all of which were drowning in cheese and featured limited other toppings. Wine - average. At no point did the staff revisit any table to check how the meal was going, apart from the people they knew. Avoid.

Lovely food at the restaurant du Port!We went for the 26 Euro menu, which we really enjoyed. The crab millefeuille wasn't a pastry confection, but layered beetroot and celeriac under crab, then topped with grated apple. So tasty! We were glad we'd ordered local cider to accompany the robust flavours of our meal. For mains, we had a home made confit de canard, and a superb entrecote steak, as an antidote to all the local fresh fish we'd recently eaten. Both meats were excellent, served with thin frites, tiny wild mushrooms (girolles?) and salad leaves.Desserts were also home made - a crème brulee and a tiramisu with fresh raspberries. The patronne and her assistant were helpful and professional, and we appreciated the table settings with linen and fresh flowers. In all, perfection! If I could find any fault, it's that I don't think the menus change, so the set menus could possibly become repetitive over several visits - if you're that lucky to make more than one visit!

We are riding our tandem bicycle along the Normandy coast. We are always starving by 7pm.. We had a great meal at La Cave. I ordered the filet mignon poêle forestière. It was excellent, three nice pork medallions with a cream sauce and mushrooms and great french fries. My friend ordered the Burger maison. It was a large burger with cheese and a small salad. We were the only ones dining at 7pm, Service was good, but not rushed. The patio was very busy with locals drinking and smoking. We would definitely go back.

An attractive salon-de-thé overlooking the market place (Place de la Chapelle) in this attractive port. The home-made quiches are delicious and served in generous portions with a side salad. At 9.50 euros they offer good value too. As we only wanted a light lunch we didn't have room to try the home-made cakes but they looked very tempting. They also offer locally made ice cream and an attractive selection of teas, freshly roasted coffee, chocolates, toffees and jam. The couple who run the place provide a very friendly and efficient service. It is only tiny with limited seating inside but also seating on the pavement overlooking the pedestrianised square. Overall, well worth a visit.

Decided to try this restaurant arriving promptly at 12noon and the very nice waitress quickly found us some menus in English which was very kind. We ordered two Pastis and Antipasti Charcuterie to begin. However, the restaurant quickly filled up and although we had ordered our main course, we then waited at least 20minutes for these dishes to arrive, despite other customers arriving after us and being served before us! I finally drew the attention of a waitress to point this out and about 5mins later our food finally arrived. My partner chose the Pasta Vongoles and I had the Pasta Gambas & Chorizo; both were delicious but sadly served on cold plates, so the food didn't stay hot for long. We probably wouldn't return but the food was good and the place was extremely busy.
