Visited again after a year in June for dinner. Room is small and cosy, bistro type. Galettes are truly homemade and very tasty. Service friendly.

With a 12 euro three course menu - and three choices for main course on it - no surprise that the dining room of this restaurant was full. No small room either; there must have been forty people in the on a Wednesday lunchtime in late April, and all French I would guess. We opted for the bar and for great moules frites (les nouvelles moules boulot sont arrivés, they proudly proclaimed). Same price as the menu but for that about a kilo of moules each! A great Muscadet from a critically acclaimed producer went down well as did the laughter, smiles and sense of pleasure from the predominantly female staff. What a great place! Don't expect anything haute about the cuisine - it's basic - but this is what France used to be all about. Thorough pleasure. We compared our happiness to our reaction to a Michelin starred lunch a few days earlier.Incidentally, St Quax is a great location for accessing the extraordinary, magnificent beaches on the western side of the St Brieuc bay.

Ideally situated, overlooking a sandy beach and yacht berthing port, this is naturally a busy restaurant. We stopped for a croque and salad on a hot day. The waiter seemed pre-occupied throughout, but no complaints re the service. Our meals arrived, nice and hot and with a fresh salad. Nicely presented. The seating area was across the road from the restaurant, and I ordered a coffee. Usually it arrives lukewarm, however, this was piping hot. Result.

We found this restaurant at a very busy Sunday lunchtime. Well priced, good selection and pleasant female staff. The male staff members seemed a little stressed!!Unusual selection of local beers. We tried an "Uncle" which is a cloudy light beer. Very pleasant flavour, but a little pricey at 3.5 Euros for a small glass. One interesting feature is the option to try 4 craft brews for 6 euros. A nice way to taste a selection without having to drink a full glass if the flavour doesn't suit you.The Galettes we had were probably the thinnest, crispest we have ever had - excellent. There were more than 8 staff working flat out as it was virtually full.Recommended.Thanks for your visit Flantheman! Hope we will share an Uncle beer together soon! See you ! Les Cochons

We visited this restaurant for lunch on a sunny April day so are outside on the terrace which was lovely. We both had the 'menu du jour' which was excellent value and tasty. The goats cheese and local ham starter was delicious. The staff were mainly young and very friendly and efficient . The restaurant was clearly popular and justly so, with a wide range of clientele from couples, to families and those clearly on a business lunch .Would recommend if in the area.

We visited La Tartan three times during our stay in Saint Quay Portrieux, and each time the food was superb! The menu is well priced, the serving size very good and there is a very good wine list. Laura is delightful and makes you feel very welcome, and the ambiance lovely. We would highly recommend La Tartan!

Very friendly welcome and although quiet on the evening we visited, general atmosphere very good. Superb gallette and crepe (Steaks etc., also served). Would definitely return.
