Arriving here for a late lunch after a tiring journey, we were welcomed and looked after by charming staff. We sat at a cheerful red-check clothed table next to a fountain, the whole scene giving the impression that we were outside in one of France's little town squares. In fact we were inside under artificial light but as it was grey and wet outside, it gave us the illusion of being in the sunny south. We began with a generous plate of excellent, fresh charcuterie. Helpings in northern France are invariably copious. A hamburger with chips for my husband, which he enjoyed. For me a slice of veal in a pleasant, creamy mushroom sauce. Just what was needed. We rounded off the meal with a coffee. There's a lot going on in the Pasino complex and it's a great place for people-watching, specially in the evening.

Staying at the casino hotel close by so decided this looked better than the casino restaurant. We were not disappointed I had the prawn, salmon and advocacy salad (delicious) and my husband had thePrawn curry which he thoroughly enjoyed. Service was excellent and very friendly. Would not hesitate to come back here if I was in the area again.Thank you for your compliments , the satisfaction of our customers is our best advertising. Hope to see you again, cordially .

What a nightmare! After a terrible experience at the hotel next door, we decided to go for a drink and snack at this nice looking restaurant. We went upstairs only to be told we could not have a drink there and then were shuffled to the restaurant downstairs. We tried to order three glasses of wine and were told we must order food. We were told we could not order one pizza and two appetizers but had to order three full meals. The restaurant was only about half full. After we said we only wanted the pizza and two appetizers, they refused us service. I have never been treated like that in a restaurant.Hello,We are sorry not to have satisfied to you. Indeed we do not make bar but only restaurant. While hoping to make you change opinion for your next mealWell cordially

This eatery is rather in the middle of a housing estate but DO Not let this put you off this great place. Service was superb and the waiter even came out with a computer to assist us to translate the French menu (my husbands attempts sound more like a bad allo allo joke).I opted for the steak which as delicious and the pepper sauce. My husband opted for the famous steak tartar and we did not find this a disappointment. Well flavoured it was an ambition to try this and we certainly came to the right place to do so. Good flow of locals who all ate here which is always a good sign too. Had we not done this at the end of our holiday we would certainly have returned. The deserts too were superb my sundae was enormous. The price was very reasonable; service was great and friendly and even had an outside area when the weather is good (which it certainly was on our stay).Would certainly be the place of choice in St Amand les Eaux

Stopped in Valenciennes for lunch rather than use the awful roadside grills and found this great restaurant. Although very busy, we were served in good time and the kids ate well. Plat du jour was â¬10 with a choice of pavé or fish. Both were excellent. Loads of other dishes on à la carte menus plus plenty of specials on the chalkboards.
