Tucked into a corner of Botetourt and & York Street, Voila, with it's soft lighting and eclectic decor, is a local gem. The restaurant sits tucked away in one of the city's oldest historic neighborhoods, complete with cobblestone streets and some of the f
This past weekend my wife and I were joined by another couple and met there for dinner. I cannot begin to describe just how perfect an evening we enjoyed. Our server is a local/regional/national treasure...she could not have been any better. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and absolutely spot on with her recommendations. Her description of one of the fish dish specials resulted in two orders. All throughout the meal she was attentive while not being overbearing or obtrusive. The food was simply amazing! Well prepared and served, we could not have asked for a better meal. The wine list was compact yet varied and delicious. All in all, a perfectly fantastic dinner and evening. It has been a while since my wife and I last dined there. I can assure you that we will be doing so with more regularity in the future.YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! PREPARE TO BE AMAZED!!!

This is not a handsome building for a French restaurant but the serving staff are beautiful and engaged. It has a good location with many other Colley restaurants and a reasonable sized parking lot. The interior is attractive and bright but seemed noisy. The food was presented beautifully but most emphasized its small portions (except the chicken)Two of our group ordered chicken but all enjoyed the moist and tasty large-portion chicken which came with collards and garlic mashed potatoes. The scallops were large and disappeared so quickly that most of us didnât get to actually taste them. The eggplant was a delightful find on the menu but was not a favorite of our guest with a mention of too salty. The side of asparagus was perfect for one of our guest but not for another. She preferred the greens (collards). For dessert we shared bread pudding and chocolate mousse. The mousse seemed too small to share. It was tasty with an unusual heavy texture. It was served with dainty little gelato-like spoons but disappeared quickly. There was great interest in the Vegan succotash on the menu but it was saved for another time.We will be back.
Wine bar with wide variety of by the glass selections, nicely curated beer selections and an American tapas pairing menu. Retail wine section as well as olive oils and infused vinegars.
Stellar has an excellent selection of wines. The proprietress can recommend based on your desired description or pair with one of her small plates. The cheese and charcuterie plates are my favorites but there's enough of a selection to satisfy for lunch or a light dinner. Stepping in off of the street the atmosphere immediately puts you at ease and the weight of the world slips away. It's a magical place.
