Clearly this is a popular little bistrot, and not long after we arrived - sans reservation - other would-be diners were being turned away or asked to come back later. The haddock parmenter with cider sauce was quite honestly one of the nicest things I have eaten this year: the fish nicely flaked, and the potato not too smooth, but with some texture remaining. The lovely sauce and garnish of apple âmatchesâ rounded it off nicely. A pudding of almond cake was a nice balance of crunchy and soft, although I have to admit I struggled to find any hint of chestnut in the accompanying sauce, pleasant though it was. Wine by the glass was good. The young and energetic couple worked non-stop all evening, and clearly make an excellent team. Arrive early or book!

A pedestrian street in the historic district of PÃRIGUEUX. A former(old) building with a thick studded wooden door. Three rooms and a privative patio with an intimist and authentic decoration(set) of old stones and exposed beams. Between friends, in famil
We had an imprompu lunch as it looked lovely and quiet in the shaded courtyard. Staff were very welcoming, including bringing our wet dog water. Food and presentation were straightforward and very good. Only problem was we didnât have space for a desert. Next time perhaps.

One star Michelin. Although the venue didn't feel like that, at least where we sat in the front near the door, the food absolutely fits. Very gracious service, nice cocktail de maison, very creative and delicious food, I had the langoustine ravioli, the lobster and the vacherin. I don't remember what my husband had except for a really amazing oyster starter. I was surprised that at a one star Michelin that they did not have gluten-free bread for him since we noted on our reservation that he had celiac disease and would need a gluten-free meal. Every other one star we have been to had that. Excellent mignardise.

We ended up eating here twice since we had book another restaurant for the Sunday and they did not honor the reservation so we ended up reserving here twice. That worked out well since this was probably our favorite restaurant in Perigueux. Both times we ate under the stone arches - very nice, romantic atmosphere. Staff very friendly and very good service. When I book I always note that my husband has celiac disease and needs a gluten-free meal. Most of the time I'm wasting my time. Not here - they brought out gluten-free snacks to go with our cocktails. I was impressed. I had their house cocktail and it was great. We loved both nights and would highly recommend this place.

Friendly and welcoming, we were offered wines to taste before deciding which bottle to have. The food was great, we really enjoyed our meal and would recommend.

Found this little gem while walking past. Ate in their beautiful and artfully decorated garden which added lovely atmospherics to the meal. Food was exceptional and waitstaff services was 5 star. History of the source of the ingredients, how the food is prepared and even tips on how to enjoy a good glass of cognac, were just some of the gems given by the young energetic staff. My husband enjoyed frogs legs for the first time. Everything about our experience in this restaurant was 5 star, atmospherics, quality, quantity and presentation of food, service and value for money. Highly recommended

Had a fantastic lunch here last Tuesday. Beautiful food, fantastic wine in a pretty little restaurant with charming, attentive service from a lady who we presume was the owner. We had a table in the basement area which was very cozy. Definitely worth stopping by but probably only for couples due to size. Dear Alex H,Tanks for your comment. You're welcome.

The Veloc Café is a concept where we offer 3 services in one. You can have a drink, you restore and for the ride rent electric bikes. The catering we offer is family-made and makes a unique dish every day made with fresh market products bought every morni
Veloc Cafe is a wonderful little restaurant with a stunning view of the old cathedral. The owner couldnât speak English but actually went and google translated on his phone every time we needed help understanding. He was very friendly, very helpful and a real delight. He makes 2 hot dishes daily from fresh ingredients. We got the duck leg on fresh mashed potatoes and carrots in orange. We shared all 3 of his fresh cakes; apricot and apple; chocolate and nut and lastly yogurt bread with fresh jams. His wife works the cafe next door and she makes coffees and muffins and croissants. Really recommend this place

Went here with friends for a celebration meal, hoping for something special but it was dreadful. The restaurant is nicely decorated and quaint but that is the best bit.I can only presume that those that have rated it Excellent had a very different menu to us. Maybe we were just unlucky on the night but as there is no choice whatsoever, we were lumbered with it.Starters of artichoke, whelks and large cubes of beef fat(!) was not a great way to kick off. Then cold, runny, apparently fried, egg with eel, then the main course of veal - which was passable. Don't go here feeling hungry because there is not enough food to satisfy a manly appetite, even though you take a 4 or 5 or 7 course option. The best bits were the amuse-bouche and the grapefruit and coffee sorbet. The dessert was fine. We have all lived in the Perigord for over 10 years so know & love the perigordine food but this felt like the chef was mixing flavours and ingredients just to be "arty". Not to our taste at all. I think you have to be a very adventurous diner to come away happy. Cordialement.Catell K.

We asked several people in the street, which was the best restaurant around and everyone said The XVIeme, so we tried it. What a wonderful meal paired with a great wine suggested by the owner... The young chef Romain is creative, delicate and finds terrific pairings... Never had sturgeon with oranges , nor the fabulous coquilles St Jacques in a delicate refined sauce....Amazing...will suggest to friends who come to this region...Really fine restaurant in a lovely ambiance..
