A reservation is a must, the service is excellent even when full and the waiters are stretched. The food is good but not exceptional, some of the dishes were quite salty. They do put their own twist on some French dishes not always for the better but kudos for trying. I would go back. Like much of Old Town parking is hard to find so use a ride share or taxi.

This is the place to go for delicious food in the heart of Del Ray. It's a bit upscale, yet delightfully casual with a friendly, family atmosphere. Children are welcome, but as a customer, if your children are too young to enjoy the conversation and exquisitely prepared dishes, you might want to find a less-expensive and speedier alternative. The food is prepared on-site and any dish on the menu is likely to be one of the best you have ever eaten. The wait staff is well versed in how it is prepared and what the specials are that day. This is our "go to" restaurant for special occasions celebrated locally and for entertaining out of town guests.Thank you, Leigh, first for being a treasured regular and, second, for taking time to write this detailed review :-)We appreciate you choosing Del Ray Café for celebrations and hosting special guests; it's a high honor with the number of choices you have in our area and we try hard not to take it for granted. We would like to point out that we are extremely family friendly and have well-loved, healthy Kids' Menus with no item costing more than 6$ for Breakfast & Brunch or 9$ for Dinner. So please feel free to bring any children with you anytime :-) Families with young children tend to come on the earlier side of our evening hours which is why we open at 5pm for Dinner. If you're hoping for a more adult atmosphere when you visit us, we recommend reserving from 7pm on.

The problem with this place is that they seem to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. I REALLY want to like Voltaggio. It’s close by, we love the casino, the food is decent, it is definitely overpriced. Way overpriced, but with they have a captive audience so they can demand whatever price they want and many times I’m willing to pay it because it’s the type of food we want at the casino. The SERVICE Is what will be this restaurants doom. The only decent reception you get is at the host/hostess stand. Once you make it past there, good luck. ESPECIALLY the bar. We waited for 15 minutes for a simple drink last night in a virtually empty bar. We were one of only two couples seated in the lounge area. Try to talk to a manager about the poor service.....haha. That’s laughable. We left and went to Osteria who even with a large party they were helping offered impeccable service. I may have wanted a steak but I didn’t want the truly poor, non-existent service that Voltaggio continues to deliver. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We truly regret to hear of the poor service you received when visiting our restaurant. Please know that this feedback will be used to better the experience moving forward. We do hope you choose to give us another try.

Le Refuge Restaurant

A nice quirky restaurant with a large menu of delicious offerings and superb service. HOWEVER (are you reading this, restaurant manager?), for a fine restaurant of this type, the bread (stale and tasteless) and butter (frozen wrapped in foil) was simply awful and not in keeping with the expectation of high quality that a top restaurant should have. And since we were dipping the bread in the very good mussel appetizer, it was something that we were likely to notice. A small issue, to be sure, but something that should never happen in a fine restaurant, and a French one especially.
