This is a Michelin one star restaurant
Loved the food, remarkable experience. Only complaint was that when I mentioned to our waitress that there were mosquitoes around us (we saw one repeatedly) and we had gotten several bites, she acknowledged the comment as if to say that was entirely possible (only a "oui"!), but she seemed totally disinterested in doing anything about it. I'm itching as I write this...

This fabulous restaurant is just outside Caen and should not be missed. Situated on the lovely canal side, the restaurant is tastefully decorated and we were made most welcome by the staff. The menu changes appropriately with the seasons and is in the chef/owners hands....and very capable they are too. Delicious melon soup as a little pre starter that's after tasty little things with our aperitifs!the courses were absolutely wonderful, and so beautifully and artfully presented.Lovely to see the chefs at work through the glass.charming staff and such care taken with glassware, cutlery...all a very high standard.Highly recommended

Restaurant Crêperie Café Salon de Thé Pâtes, quiches, salades, galettes sarrasin, crêpes, glaces artisanales, desserts, café Nespresso, thé Kusmi Tea
Visited for a pre-channel crossing meal and arrived early (18:30) when place was empty - too early for the French was the welcoming and light-hearted response. We had galettes with various fillings, which were very good and the home-made apple and rhubarb crumble which was unexpectedly good. Relatively fast food, but all freshly cooked, and well-priced - most courses were under â¬10. Only slight downside is that centre of Caen is currently subject to substantial roadworks and the restaurant is easy to walk to, but parking a little challenging because of the roadworks.

Restaurant will be closed all the month of July 2019.
We came to this joint following TripAdvisor recommendation. A nice place with hearty hosts including Flavia herself. The food was anywhere between good to great. We dropped in at dinner rush hour and the place nor staff isnât equipped to handle it. We waited a full 12â for an espresso which we asked for. Another 10â for water. Both after asking 3 times. But other than everything was great. The service was very friendly (even if slow) and my Brazilian-born wife assured me that the food itself were amazing. On a side note I was a bit underwhelmed with the 4euro cover charge for a dude with a guitar. Hello, first of all, thank you for your compliments regarding our sympathy. However I do not understand your comment on your arrival. When you arrived we put you directly at your table, regarding the speed of service, we apologized several times. And by asking you to apologize you also answered that it was not serious and you even left a tip of 6 euros. And as for the participation of 4 euros for the musician, I find that it does not do so much. As we said, we brought this guitarist for the evening music and not being able to ensure 2 services, we must ask 2 euros per cutlery. Our prices of dishes do not provide us enough profits to pay the totality of our service, so we ask our customers to participate in order to continue the music evenings.I would like to thank you for your sincere opinion and thank you also for the opinion of your wife from brazil who has been able to show you the quality of our dishes.Sincerely,

While the salmon tartare starter was excellent the Caesar salad my wife had was dry to the point of being inedible. The chicken was way over cooked and there was no dressing. When our dissatisfaction was pointed out, the waitress indicated that the salad, which was virtually uneaten would be deducted from the bill. On paying the bill, only a cappuccino was deducted and not the salad. To my embarrassment, I only discovered this on return to our hotel or I would have raised a fuss. I feel that we were taken advantage of as tourists. Of note that the guests at the next table had to have a main course returned to the kitchen. Whether this was a Sunday night âB teamâ staff or normal standard, this restaurant is not recommended; there are others in town.

Sébastien and Sylvie welcome you to their authentic crêperie and offer a kitchen and quality products.
Itâs such a cosy restaurant and the the gentleman that served us was a perfect host. We wanted a dinner of galettes and crepes and we certainly came to the right place. With such a huge variety to pick from it was a difficult choice. I had their special which was scallops and cream leaks, it was delicious!Desserts were equally good and so was their house wine. Itâs quite small so best to reserve a table, so pleased we did!

We were a party of six and everyone without exception thought our meal was brilliant. The welcome and service was everything you would expect. The quality and taste of the food was first class with a very good wine list that was not too expensive for good wine. All the food choices were appreciated with no-one disappointed. An exceptional evening.

Situated not far from the center of town, next to the port. The Creperie Instant invites you to discover our delicious menu with a friendly atmosphere.
This creperie is one of the homiest places in Caen with excellent service from the owner and delicious food from the kitchen! The environment is calm and like one's own breakfast nook. The menu has everything from sweet to savory, priced from .50 euro to 10+ euro depending on your budget. The kitchen is willing to adjust as needed to customize your order. If unsure, the owner/server makes excellent recommendations for both food and wine. I went every day of my trip to Caen and didn't regret a thing! The waitress is fluent in English if you struggle with French.

There were 5 of us eating, we sat down and ordered. We only spoke English and Spanish, but the young (teenage) waiter did his best to understand our large order. Once we ordered we realized we had read our train tickets incorrectly and we had to have them box everything up immediately and we took our food to go. They were very accommodating. We ate the food on the train and it was SO good! I would seek them out when in Caen again!Merci pour votre avis. Au plaisir de vous revoir dans notre restaurant dans un prochain séjour dans notre pays.

Situed on the port of Ouistreham near the arrival and depart for Portsmouth by the Ferry .Seafood platter and a good wine are proposed.Speciality of Fish and Meat . The dishes are homemade. Fast and discreet service .Mussels, fish and ships and crepes .
Had dinner here before embarking for the UK on Saturday night . The service was faultless and the staff really lovely. We were not rushed at all and we had time to eat our meal at a lovely gentle pace. The Mere et terre starter of fois gras and salmon and prawn was superb and our main course of steak perfectly cooked to my taste and my wife had the veal in a lovely white sauce. The veal was a little overcooked but was still really tasty. All in all a good meal.
