What an atmospheric little restaurant this is just off the main drag in Menton. Dishes are very reasonably priced & their specialities seem to be risottos & pasta but steak, cordon bleu & duck are also on offer. We opted for the chicken cordon bleu (â¬12!!!) & a fillet steak au poivre (â¬24) both with a side of oven roasted herb potatoes. Both dishes were delicious however the cordon bleu was especially good & so cheap. The tiramisu was massive & so moist. We washed dinner down with a litre of decent house rose priced at â¬13. This was one of our tastiest & best meals on a 2 week drive around Europe & definitely the best for value for money.Lovely service from a charming lady who handled a very rude Australian ladyâs demands extremely well - didnât like the tables available (wanted ours!), then her table wobbled too much, then their wine wasnât as cold looking(!) as ours.

This place is wonderful, like restaurants you can only dream about. Wonderfully run by one lady all on her own. She deftly deals with all the diners, with charm and friendliness. The food feels lovingly home cooked and with more than half of the restaurant locals who look like they have been coming here for years. You know you are on to a winner. We loved it so much we went back the next night and weren't disappointed.

Restaurant Plage
When in a tourist town, one always becomes suspicious of the quality of their restaurants! Da Mitchou is situated between the road and the beach, and it really is a gorgeous place to sit and enjoy the view! As usual we went out for dinner with a list of restaurant names with a good score from Tripadvisor. Some were empty, some closed, but Da Mitchoulooked very inviting. We were early for dinner, so asked if we could come in for a pre dinner drink. We were seated at the very last table available out on almost the side of the restaurant in front of the showers. We ordered our delicious favourite french drink, a Pastis on ice. They also brought us some complimentary pizza bread which was yummy. When we asked if we cluld atay for dinner, we were told we could stay at our 'bar' table, as the restaurant was full. In the meantime we had struck a conversation with Chris, one of their waiters whom had spent some time in Australia, and we started having fun with his memories! His English was perfect, and we were made to feel very welcome. We weren't terribly hungry, being on the road for ten weeks, constricts your eating habits somewhat, unless you wish to grow more than your clothes allow! So we both lrdered a salad with a serve of fries on the side, a glass of Cote du Rhône, and we were extremely happy! Chris continued to entertain us throughout our dinner, and we left feeling very content.

The Big Vertical Bunch Singed
We booked table through restaurant's own webpage and they did have table ready on time for us. We both took a three course menu which was really good. Staff was also great, but they only speak French. This was our best restaurant experience in Menton.

Atelier des tartares. Ardoise proposant des produits frais, cuisinés sur place au gré du marché. Desserts maison. Petit établissement de 14 couverts intérieur et 10 extérieur.
This a cafe style restaurant, but don' t be fooled, the food is very nice, and you can tell that they use fresh ingredients. If you fancy a casual meal this is the place. However be aware that the food is mostly meat, so not ideal for vegetarians. Although I understood that as they use only fresh ingredients, the menu can vary and sometimes there may be more choice of vegetarian dishes.

I was really surprised to find this gem in Menton, which is not exactly known for its great dining and trendy restaurants! I've eaten here twice now and the burgers are out of this world. Very homemade tasting and absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed that the 'French Burger' came on a toasted baguette, with melted cheese on both sides - great touch! Location is nice, in a little side street off the main tourist track and the service was friendly enough (happy to speak English with you). I'm also keen to try the steaks, which a neighbouring table were eating, and look great. A great place to eat tasty food!

We dined here at the end of a long holiday supporting our friends who were cycling the Route des Grandes Alpes. What a great way to end the trip! The menu was wide ranging and great value for money. The scallop starter was divine! Check the opening hours as we arrived for Happy Hour at 5:30pm but the bar was only open from 7pm as it was out of peak season. Very friendly waiting staff and lovely atmosphere.

On a recent trip from Canada last week, we were visiting with relatives in the area and decided to give this resto a try. We were a party of 6. Seriously folks, this place is a win/win. It's obvious these people love what they do! Each dish was prepared with love & expertise. All of their ingredients are not only market-fresh but equally of the highest standard. In general we are very picky eaters when it comes to quality and service. This place wins hands down as one of the best restaurants we've ever experienced. Totally worth the detour if you're visiting the South of France.Dear jaquie t,How can I forget you all and you especially..beautiful blond lady... :-) You made our night, you were absolutely delightful, even the clients sited at the table next to you Carole & Beverly, if I well remember, while sharing stories.Thank you so very much for your beautiful review...even though I am wondering what could be the next step...a 3 star Michelin ?!? No seriously we are so so far from this and it is not our goal ! Nevertheless I agree with you: quality, service & love are our main aims at Si Menton savait...We are honored that our small restaurant worth a detour versus all the magnificent sightseeing and superb points of interest from the South of France...If one day I can offer an Ambassadrice to Si Menton savait...may I kindly forward you an application form to fill it in?

Restaurant, bar, live music. Open from 9.30 till 00.30 Mediterranean cuisine. Tapas in evening. Live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Brunch on terrasse lon Sunday. Closed on mondays. Friendly attitude.
We arrived at 11.15 am; most tables had 'reserved' signs on them but were unoccupied. We found and sat at a table without a 'reserved' sign, whereupon a very rude waiter declined to serve us a coffee. A colleague of his then agreed to serve us, but was prohibited from doing so by the first waiter. Pity as the location is excellent, but we will never return. We wonder whether the owner knows that customers are being turned away!Hello, thank you for your comment. The restaurant does not have many tables as you could see and we are fully booked almost every week-end. You sat on a « reserved » table without asking anyone. Usually, in the « modern western world » :), you wait someone to place you.I suggest that next time: you book, and introduce yourself at the entrance to get your table as everyone does. Thanks for understanding.Regards.PLT
