We ate here on a beautiful summer's day, on the terrace. The fixed price lunch of 13.50 euros for three courses was superb. Presentation was excellent and quality of food also, our party tried all three starters and everyone was delighted, the main course of Guinea fowl in foie gras sauce was exquisite. So no complaints from all four . There is of course the added distraction of airplanes and gliders taking off and landing. Can only highly recommend it for lunch.

A pleasant dinner for 4 of us in this newly renovated restaurant.Food was elegant and well presented and "fait maison".Starters of foie gras, avocado/prawns and salmon carpaccio all got thumbs up from the group, as did the sole, scallops with cepes and entrecote.Wine list is extensive with good price range to suit all tastes and budgets.Service was very good even though place was packed on a Saturday night.I still consider this place and their sister restaurant in Paillet the best value for money in the area, and well worth a visit.

This restaurant epitomizes French dining. Upscale accoutrements but no pretensions. Just excellent food and wine, tasty and well presented by smiling and helpful people ........ and even a little English spoken to facilitate our experience. This meal was our last and among the best after a week in the Bordeaux area.We were actually staying at a home in Latresne, so they were just around the corner for us, but it wouldn't be more than a 25-30 minute drive across the river from the center of Bordeaux. A great experience that I highly recommend.

Le Refuge

As someone advised, it's in a place you'd not expect to look for a restaurant. In an industrial area, right next to a roundabout. An incongruous French ski chalet.Busy with locals on their lunch break from work, this place is packed. And for good reason.Friendly service, great prix fixe, and robust meals. You will not go hungry! A choice of large salads, meaty plats, a burger that's sublime. And the desserts were good as well (creme brûlée, panda cotta.)If you're in the region and need a lunch spot, this is worth it. (Though expect a wait if you don't have reservations.)

Rouge

Since Nicolas Masse's cuisine is deeply anchored in the Aquitaine region, the wine bar ROUGE is the reflect of the South-West "terroir". Foie gras and traditional canned food, wine confits and Iberian hams can be enjoyed at the tasting bar or taken away.

A very nice bar and tapas place, where one can have nice snacks, with top quality products. The service is somewhat cumbersome, could be nicer. Worth going, anyway. Part of the caudalie complex.Dear Carlos,Thank you for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed our tapas and our bar. However, we are sorry that you were disappointed with the service. Be sure that we told our team your remark so as to improve ourselves. We hope to see you soon in the heart of our vines.Best regards,Rouge

We were staying local to the restaurant and it was only short walk away from the chateau Lantic. We didn't make a reservation and me and the wife turned up on spec.We were shown to a table straight away and made to feel very welcome. The menu was large enough to accommodate everyone and small enough to know it would be fresh and to order. We were not disappointed, the food was fantastic, the foie gras starter was divine and both our mains were spot on.The staff were helpful and attentive and assisted my modest French. We accompanied the food with a bottle of reasonably priced wine and it really made the evening. Thanks for helpful no us celebrate

La Grand’Vigne

Reviewed By Hervé L

We had dinner at La Grand'Vigne with a friend for the celebration of two birthdays. The evening started well with an aperitif on the terrace in front of the restaurant. We had a very nice rosé Champagne and could enjoy the evening sun and the peacefulness of this magical place. After the aperitif we were shown to our table. The sommelier greeted us too and very appropriately mentioned he would not propose us an aperitif since he saw that we enjoyed it on the terrace already. A waiter quickly came afterwards to explain the menu. We went for the 7-course "Voyage en Aquitaine" as well as the phenomenal wine pairing "Selection d'Exception". Be ready for this trip through Aquitaine to occupy you for a while because we took our seats around 8 pm to be leaving the dining room well after midnight. The amuse-bouche were quickly brought to our table so that we could enjoy them with our first wine, an exceptional Laurent Perrier Cuvée Grand Siècle which actually is a blend of different vintaged Champagne. The wine pairing consists of 5 glasses that are accompanying 7 courses and potentially your amuse-bouche too. Naturally the sommelier advised us and mentioned which glasses to spread over two courses. The experience was a very smooth journey from one delicious dish to another, sublimated by excellent wines. The food was very inventive, the ingredients were a combination of simplicity and sophistication. The presentation and the textures were extremely studied. The flavours were rich and intense. The service, naturally, was flawless. The sommelier took a genuine pleasure in explaining to us why and how he selected these wines. It was also very clear that the whole staff were very proud of their products and very happy to share their enthusiasm. The setting was in no way snooty or stiff but only very professional yet friendly. It was our second visit to la Grand'Vigne and, of course, considering the substantial budget involved, we reserve it for very special occasions. However, we will be back!Dear Hervé,We thank you for taking the time to write this detailed review. We are delighted to read how much you enjoyed your experience at La Grand'Vigne. What you greatly describe is exactly what we want our guests to live, from the quality of the meals and wines to the profesionalism of our staff. We thank you for your loyalty and hope to see you soon for an other gastronomic experience amidst the vineyards.Sincerely,La Grand' Vigne

Stopped here for lunch before jumping on a train.Nice looking place from the outside. A lovely day so we sat outside - fun place to people watch.Overall it was ok - but we got unlucky with a rubbish waiter. He took our drinks order friendly enough but clearly forgot. Peoplearrived after us and were getting drinks from him within a couple of minutes. 20mins later we flagged down a much more energetic waiter who was brilliant - drinks were ordered again and arrived promptly. Forgetful waiter did come back to our table to deliver a bread basket - but we didn’t talk about the elephant in the room. We pretended not to care .... he just didn’t care!Food not bad - but by the time we got our food we would have eaten anything. Sauerkraut was rather watery and the salmon / sauce was just ok.The croque monsieur was a monster and rather nice. You won’t need chips with it! Will try elsewhere next time travelling thru Bordeaux.
