Our inspiration for the food and design of Cote is a modern interpretation of the many famous bistros of Paris. Inspired by new trends, we are dedicated to serving authentic classic brasserie dishes with a modern twist, using high quality produce at great
The booking for a Monday night meal for 2 was made via the internet (via Book a Table) and proved to be quick, easy and efficient. It is suggested that no matter when you are going that a reservation is made in advance both to ensure you get a table and that no other âlargeâ event is taking place or occurring at your chosen time. The restaurant is easy to find being in the West Street (A4155), Marlow, but you may find parking has its challenges, even on a âquietâ night. It is worth noting that taxi fares in the area range from £12 - £15 for a 5 minute journey. The overall atmosphere is that of a simple clean décor with good lighting and very open plan. However the tables are quite close together and it can become quite noisy (echoes) at times, even when not busy. We were also âput offâ by the entry door used by the staff to access in/out of the kitchen; this was dirty and had finger marks and food stains over the paintwork and brass. On arrival we were greeted and shown to our table â the service throughout was very attentive and quite polite, with not rush to order. There were several menuâs to choose from and the ability to mix and match across them. All food dishes are cooked fresh to order, were of acceptable quality and value with decent portions being served. Items of note from our chosen dishes included the main of Lemon Sole and tor sweet the Crème Caramel â both well worth having a try. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant, however the food is just like any other Côte if I'm being honest, nothing really sets brassiere apart from others in the chain.

Went for an evening meal - we were aiming for traditional but this was just a bit too dated. 'sweet trolley', very very lengthy menu with nothing outstanding on it.We also booked for 8pm weeks ago, on booking I got pushed back to 8.15 but when we arrived we got placed in the 'waiting area' and didn't actually get seated until 9pm ... there was another group in the same situation but for 3 of us I thought this was a bad etiquette and they are over-booking and waiting for the first sitting to finish without telling them the table is booked. Also by buying drinks in between we felt it did not 'enhance' our meal experience but rather took slightly away.

I was delighted to recently discover this place was only a 5-10 min drive from home. To fully appreciate the pub I think its useful to know a little about who owns the pub and how they manage it. It's very interesting! Service (from the owners various offspring) was friendly and polite. The atmosphere was classy, but informal. Nice, tiny but cosy bar for a pre dinner drink just off the main room with around 10 tables. My main grumble I'm afraid is the steep prices. The food was good, no question about that. But relatively simple. With mains floating around the £30 mark I just wasn't as impressed as I thought I might be. My rabbit pate starter was exceptionally small. My other slight gripe is the menu. We dined in the height of summer so were quite surprised to find venison pie, slow cooked lamb (it was delicious though) and treacle pudding on the very small menu. I don't know, maybe I'm being picky. I just didn't come away feeling that we got value for money here. Definitely worth a try if you can afford it.

Aubergine is a wonderful evening out and a treat if you decide to do one pricey restaurant during your London visit. The food was great, as was the service. The atmosphere is very calming considering the hustle and bustle of the city. The diners spoke in low tones, which some might consider a bit too stuffy. I liked the quiet atmosphere as a nice change from the bistro scene.
