Reviews on French food in Marigot, Saint-Martin, Caribbean. The principal town and capital of French St. Martin, Marigot is an appealing spot with brightly colored houses, a scattering of restaurants and lively produce and crafts markets. It’s a great base for exploring St. Martin’s secluded beaches (many clothing optional) and its more vibrant, family-popular ones. Marigot is within easy reach of the famed restaurants at nearby Grand Case, said to have the Caribbean's best dining. Kept temperate by trade winds, Marigot stays warm and sunny year-round.

Welcoming and very friendly staff, delicious and imaginative cuisine, and a very nice wine list. We all enjoyed a fabulous evening at La Villa. All appetizers & entrees were amazing. Highly recommended! We drove up from the DIVI Little Bay Resort to support the wonderful people of Grand Case.

We haven't been here in quite a while, shame on us! Service was perfect, friendly and unobtrusive. Then the food, perfectly seared foie gras, and probably the best Lobster Thermidor ever. We will be back as much as possible!

You can find here the real soul of a typical "bouchon lyonnais" with tradionnals specialities from our mother town Lyon in France. We also cook fishes, standards meats, salads and many others dishes to suit to everybody's tastes...let's come and discover
Another annual visit to St. Martin must include a trip to Bistro Nu, we visited twice on our trip this year and were not disappointed either night, food is excellent and service is very good, French classics are some of the best food on the menu but nightly specials board is loaded with great offerings, wines are limited but the wines they offer are wonderful, desserts are great with plenty to share , we will continue to visit Bistro Nu on our yearly visit, well worth the visit and an equal 1 for 1 swap on dollarsThank you so much for your comment! We are very glad to be part of your St Martin routine! Take care and see you very soon! Jean-Claude, Gérant, Bistronu.

For the last 20 years, owner Stephane has welcomed you to the palm groves of the lagoon at Nettle Bay where, watching the sunset over the lagoon, you can enjoy the gastronomic, gourmet cuisine in an idyllic setting. Chef Malory Leroux offers daily special
When first arriving, you can definitely see the remnants of the hurricane in the surrounding buildings. This quickly gives way to a nice beach setting with white table linens. The food was excellent. The amuse-bouche of teriyaki tuna and appetizer of lobster ravioli in a lobster bisque were both quite good. My wife had the scallops and I had the duck. Theses were both delicious. We ended with the profiteroles and the melting chocolate cake and those were equally as good. Service was spot on. There were there when you needed something and left you alone as well. We started our meal with a beautiful sunset and ended with candlelight and soft French music with gentle waves in the background. They do take credit cards ... charged in Euros and they request gratuity in cash (which I just converted to USD). This was a great French meal!Thank you very much for your kind review. It was a pleasure for us to host you at la Cigale. We hope to see you again in the near future, All the best,La cigale team

My husband and I had two delightful dinners here during our week stay in St Martin. We generally always try to make this restaurant one of our first stops. It is really delightful, with an "old world ambiance", attentive but not intrusive service, and "over the top" cuisine. The view from the balconied tables is magical, and certainly creates a romantic atmosphere. We tried the sole, lobster bisque, gazpacho, and a grand mariner soufflé. Everything was perfect. I felt that the portions were just right for us. The beurre blanc sauce accompanying the sole, and the grand mariner sauce were perfect. Their chef is very talented and creates his sauces with real knowledge and expertise. On our first night our waiter chose for us a fine French chablis, not over priced. On our second evening the owner, Nada, stopped by, and we enjoyed a delightful conversation. We have always had very personal service here. The restaurant is a little difficult to find, but not far off the beaten path. The valet parks your car and is waiting when you leave. This restaurant is sure to create very special memories, and we can't wait to come back to St Martin and try some of their other delicacies!

We arrived by sailing ship and docked in the local harbour. This restaurant is conveniantly located close to this harbour. We enjoyed a nice meal served for a reasonable price by a friendly staff

Was hard to decide, where to go for dinner no the last night in Marigot. Decided to walk to the little harbor on the edge of the city center. Eventually only 3 places were open. I choose this one as the menu looked appealing to me. I'd fancy a nice tuna steak I thought. However, once I got seated they presented me with the 'plat du jour' (menu of the day). Got tempted by the choices (3 for each course and dessert even four) for only 19 euros (which was the same amount as a typical entrée). So I did, choose the crab-tartare with avocado and salad, grilled salmon with butter sauce, garlic vegetables and butter rice. Decided to choose the dessert later. With the starter (which tasted really awesome and fresh) I got a French baguette with butter packs, complimentary. After that the main dish came, evenly tasty and fresh, special note for the rice which tasted really awesome. Then I choose my dessert, although the portions were not massive I had eaten enough and although the apricot tart, molten lava cake and crème brulee sounded very appealing I choose the fresh fruit salad instead. All in all I cannot decide other than this was indeed my best meal here in Marigot. Special note to the service which was more than excellent in this venue. A must go!

We stopped for lunch while in Marigot. The restaurant is right on the harbor with a wonderful view. There is an English menu. We started with the scallops and asparagus. I ordered the Mixte de la Mer -- grouper, mahi-mahi, shrimp in truffle butter. My husband ordered the Sauteed Assortment of Seafood which was the same type of seafood as my dish, but over tagliatelle. We were very full but still ordered the Lava Cake. All dishes were outstanding. We ordered the house Cabernet, which was very good. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.

Dine by the water or a few feet away to the interior dining. Still enjoying the open space and gentle wind. Fresh and delicious. Another amazing place that we had to visit more than once.

We were visiting St. Martin as part of a cruise ship stop and visited here before the hurricane. Although much has been repaired since then, much remains to be rebuilt. We saw glowing reviews for Le Sous Marin. It's off the beaten path but the walk was well worth it. We enjoyed fresh quiche and a croque madame for lunch with local beer, of course. They offer heartier fare like beef bourginone but the sun was hot and we were happy with our light lunch and beer in the shade. Leave room for dessert - they have several to choose from!
