This place has a free car parking in front and a nice view on the city walls. Clean restaurant with efficient service, but the food did not impress me although this is a personal opinion (I'm not fond of the French cuisine in general).

On our way home from Paris, stumbled into au plaisir gustatif. No nonsense food cooked to perfection. Excellent price/performance. The decorum is perhaps not in line with the chefs capabilities. But who cares. Absolute tip if you are around.

This is a regular treat - technically it's a pizza place (the pizzas are cooked in front of you), but there are other dishes (magret de canard for example) and Bertrand often recommends meat that he knows is top quality. Extremely friendly, always quite full (you need to book at the weekends) - Bertrand knows all the regulars and their favourite dishes.Normal prices for a restaurant like this - but the quality and the generous portions make all the difference.

Recommended to this restuarant and it lived up to expectations. The fact that a lot of local French people were dining was a good reliable sign. Food freshly cooked. Steaks done on a log fire before your eyes. Best steak I have had in years. The bottle of Bordeaux was half the price it would have been in Britain. Friend had veal in bacon wrap which looked nice, he cleared the plate so I guess it was as good as it looked. Good cheeseboard. Crime Brûlée for sweet was excellent. Very reasonable bill.
I used to live in the North of France and have been back over and over again to la table d'Oliv since. It is located in the lovely Avesnois region near Valenciennes (only accessible by car). They have an extensive menu and everything is super fresh. The dishes are simple and made with quality products, mainly local. The carbonade flamande - tender beef cubes cooked in local Jenlain beer served with home fries - is particularly delicious. I can never resist the escargots as a starter and everything else I ate there is great. Don't miss the tasty small French moules de Bouchot in season. Needless to say the "ch'ti" service is the most friendly. Great desserts too! Great value for the money, reasonably priced. Restaurant is fairly small and often full as it is very appreciated by the locals so it is best to reserve. I highly recommend it. Enjoy!

One of the shopkeepers in Le Quesnoy recommended this restaurant to us and I am so pleased they did as we received great food and service. I chose one of the plate du jour a pork chop in this wonderful sauce and my partner had the house hamburger. We also had a great dessert each creme brûlée and the tarte tartain, which was made with apples. It obviously is a favourite with the locals, it was quite busy and we were lucky to get a table. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food, a restaurant I would love to return to and one I recommend you try if you are in Le Quesnoy.

After the glass of champagne I had the snails as a starter. For main course I took some beef with vegetables. Unfortunately I don´t remember the name of my desert, but it was perfect as all previous courses. Waiter recommended us special kind of wine for each meal. Besides of standard menu they put on our table the large black board with daily offer, that was really funny. Unfortunately, both menus were only in french.
