A beautiful vine covered patio, great service by Sofia. Elegant, friendly, unpretentious. Many options for menu choices; a contemporary twist on traditional fare, every course was delightful and surprising. Loved the lemon meringue tarte at mealâs end, and the cocktail of the Maison.

We can remember, maybe 10 years ago enjoying a marvellous lunch comprising of all things duck in a tranquil garden setting. Foolishly we forgot the location and since then each visit to the Dordogne we have tried to find our 'secret location'. A few days ago we stumbled across this restaurant by accident. Nothing has changed. Ths same couple, the same garden, the same amazing location and, the food was even more amazing. So fresh, so tasty, absolutely fantastic. Forget the tourist restaurants, forget the riverside views with mediocre food. Head to this beatiful haven, off the beaten track for a meal you will never forget. Fois gras, Confit de canard, Magret de canard, marinated tomatoes, toast, - and a fantastic host.Thank you so much

First off, restaurant was difficult to find, but this does effect this review. Food had mixed results; cassoulet was missing stated ingredients(no sausage), steak was tough and not edible, food not hot. Service was very spotty. Wine was never poured by wait staff, nor was it offered in tasting.Restaurant is not worthy of anything more than 3 stars, if that.désolé, mais nous ne recevons que pendant les heures d'ouverture, probablement la cause première de votre mécontentement ! Même vos amis étaient gêné par votre comportement ! restez en Floride !

Our group of four got hungry driving from Bordeaux to Sarlat about the time we drove through Buisson on a Friday afternoon. Lou Picata was open and had lots of people eating so we walked in. It was pretty evident from the looks we got not too many Americans eat here. Not fancy at all and plainly a place for working men (almost all the diners were male). Our greeter/waitress made clear through her limited English and my basic French that there was only one menu option -- cassoulet. Sounded good to us, and the many jovial diners all with the same think on their plate encouraged that decision. We didn't realize it was a full menu until a creamy rich garlic cream soup with egg whites was set before us. The cassoulet was a white bean casserole like we'd had in Italy, but this Dordogne version included duck confit and duck sausage. It was so filling but I couldn't stop until it was gone. Then came a dessert course, a light, mousse-like concoction, frozen on one layer and a light crust on the other topped with a reddish sauce I would have thought to be respberry but without the tartness. Each course was delicious. What a culinary stroke of luck to happen on this place.

Trying to steer away from the extortionate prices of nearby Limeuil, we came across this little informal restaurant which offered a 16⬠fixed price menu.Offering was very limited as they were about to finish lunch servie so had ran out of most options, however what they served filled us up nicely. The only negative note was the steak that was really tough!A smile or 2 from the owners would not go amiss either, but all in all a good experience.

Can see why it's Bruno's favorite restaurant. We were two couples who are Bruno fans so had to visit to check out. WOW and was it worth it! Sat in a sun-soaked arbour in a most beutiful setting. Really tasty Foie-gras, with glass of Montbazillac wine, followed by duck cooked perfectly and delicious desserts. Meal was a great success and quite modestly priced. Will retorn when next in the area.

Amazing set menu at a very convenient price. The dishes were very generous, but even more delicious. Don't miss the courtesy garlic soup, surprising and delicious also for garlic haters like me. The 5 course meal is absolutely pantagruelic, but you can't avoid taste (and eat) all courses. After all of it a big walk is needed! Service very nice and attentive. A very well run family business, congrats! Undoubtly, one of the best meals we had in the region and even in France.

If the weather's with you, eat au terrace where you can sit under the shade looking out onto the lovely verdant garden. If not, don't worry, there is ample inside dining space. Ring ahead to book during the hot season to be sure of a table. Carolinne and Florence work together in perfect symbiosis as chef and front of house in their well thought out renovated home on the hill in Cadouin. Their philosophy is to welcome guests into their home as they would friends, offering them tasty, good quality, home-cooked food produced by people they know and trust in the local area. They work in harmony with nature with what is in season to produce delicious, succulent dishes with hints of the far east and other unusual twists. Don't venture here if you like your food laden with cream or gravy as the cooking here is fresh, light and modern. The wine list is small but interesting and perfectly complements the menu. Les Terraces is open every day for lunch and evening meals all year round so does not rely solely on the tourist trade. It's not in the centre of town but only a minute's drive up the hill overlooking the abbey and definitely worth seeking out if you're looking for something a little less predictable than the usual in-town tourist restaurants that only open up for the season.

One of the joys of visiting France is small restaurants serving extraordinary food. L'Esperence is one of these that surprised and delighted our group of 4. From a beautiful collection of amuse-bouche to open, to appetizers and main courses that ranged from pigeon to foie gras to fish to beef, every course was beautifully presented, perfectly put together, and delicious. With some unfortunate dietary restrictions (dairy and gluten), eating in France can be frustrating when serving and cooking staff promise accommodations but then forget. The chef got everything right, and it was our best meal of the month we had in France. Highly recommended.
