We are always made to feel very welcome here, it is very good value for money, The burger plate is outstanding, the pizzas are very good also, very thin crust, Also, the hot cheese, with fries, salad and charcuterie is excellent. The hosts are very friendly, the toilet exceptionally clean also. You can't go wrong here, Laurent and Christina are welcoming, and will do whatever to make sure you are happy with your meal.

Wow.... was certainly not expecting this menu to be so fantastic!!!!!!!Foie Gras, Smoked Duck Breast (which tasted very much like biltong), Duck Confit, Goats Cheese, Pate and Onion, Deli Salad, wow wow wow!!!Dessert was a choice of Walnut Tart with custard and Cream, or Creme Brulee... we each had a different one and shared. Finishing off the meal with the lovely Bergerac Park Le Bournat Wine under the tress outside the restaurant. For the kiddos it was a deli salad with salami slices, beef patty on cubed potatoes, vanilla yoghurt, sweet surprise and fruit juice.Staff really friendly and helpful in explaining French menu...

The restaurant at Le Cygne turned out to be a delight with delicious food that is beautifully presented. In our party one enjoyed the menu where he began with pate de foie gras, a round of really delicious pate served with toast triangles on a plate with cherry tomato halves painted with balsamic swirls. It was dense, very flavorful and rich. With that came a glass of the local white wine that was flinty and citrus-y and perfect with this course. His second course was a chicken leg and thigh confit, served along with fried potato wedges and a mixture of vegetables that was sweet-sour and crunchy. With this came a glass of the house red, a Cabernet-like wine that was tannic and perfect with that course. His dessert course was fresh fruit with Cointreau. My husband got cod with a walnut sauce, rice and the same vegetable mixture. The chef was willing to adjust my husband's choices to allow him to stick with his low sodium diet. I had the most wonderful omelet I think I have ever had--it was perfect, light and filled with ceps, big rich chunks of mushrooms. This was served with potato wedges and a salad of perfect lettuces with a very lovely Dijon vinaigrette. For dessert my husband got really good chocolate mousse and I got the restaurant's Trilogy of Ice Creams, flavors made in house and that night violet, speculation and rum raisin. The ingredients used are high quality and the talented chef turns them into lovely dishes. I would suggest reservations as the weeknight when we ate there the restaurant was full.

Can see why it's Bruno's favorite restaurant. We were two couples who are Bruno fans so had to visit to check out. WOW and was it worth it! Sat in a sun-soaked arbour in a most beutiful setting. Really tasty Foie-gras, with glass of Montbazillac wine, followed by duck cooked perfectly and delicious desserts. Meal was a great success and quite modestly priced. Will retorn when next in the area.

I really enjoyed two lunches at Brasserie Oscar. Both times I had fish and vegetables that were carefully and tastefully prepared. It is in the building next to the farmers market and has a great view of the Dordogne, I highly recommend a visit to Brasserie Oscar.

We dropped in without reservation and we're lucky that they had a table as it was a "music evening". The menu was set and short......but absolutely wonderful. This was our 11th evening in France and we ate the best food since our arrival. The hosts are very friendly and helpful; we felt so comfortable for the whole evening. The singer/guitarist was good, too. Overall an excellent evening.

Chai Monique. Title - Charming Wine Bar with Outstanding Regional Cuisine. We dined at Chai Monique three times during our one-week stay in Le Bugue, starting with a lunch that was so good that we came back the same night for dinner. We enjoyed the delicious regional cuisine, skillfully prepared with fresh, local ingredients, and offered with a fine selection of local wines. The menu tends toward small plates (we loved the rillettes de canard), but includes several dinner-sized offerings (duck with cherries and pork confit were on the menu when we visited - both were delicious). We found it easy to construct interesting 3-course meals from the a la carte menu, and we enjoyed meeting Monique, who made sure we were well cared for. On our third visit, we arrived just as she was planning to close. To our great pleasure, she agreed to stay open to serve our party of six. We ate at a lot of good restaurants during our three-week road tour of southwestern France. Chai Monique is among the half dozen that stood out as really memorable.

Having seen this as the No. 1 rated restaurant in Le Bugue, we visited on a Friday lunchtime and were seated within 5 minutes (the wait due to one lady looking after the whole restaurant). The start wasn't therefore great, but service continued at a reasonable pace once seated and we ordered the vegetarian galettes and sauteed potatoes, a soft drink and glass of wine. The galettes were amongst the nicest food I've ever eaten and one galette each and sharing the potatoes made a great meal for two.A price of 30 euros made the experience even better and the surprise being 2.50 euros for a glass of wine, which in the UK would probably have cost £5-£7.Highly recommended and we will definitely visit again.

We had a drink here after a very enjoyable walk around this beautiful place. Tables on the outside terrace are perfect for watching the world go by. The pression was good and cold as always and the waiter was friendly and efficient. Whatâs not to like? Recommend.
