Château Hochberg, hôtel & restaurant, was bought by Silvio Denz, Chairman and CEO of Lalique, in 2014. It re-opened on 12 August 2016. Château Hochberg, originally named Château Teutsch after the family that had it built, is located on the site of the for
I see this restaurant entry is also being used to review the hotel functions. I stayed in a room here, but took advantage of the free shuttle service to dine at nearby Vlila Lalique. The room had a comfortable bed and peaceful views of lawns and forest. Good breakfast with exquisite pastries and a generous pitcher of coffee. Nice touches of Lalique decor. The room was chilly at night (the climate controls seemed disconnected), but I didn't bother to ask anyone to fix it as I was plenty warm in bed.

It was a quiet Tuesday night in the off-season, and our party of six arrived without a reservation. There were two occupied tables in the large, well-lit dining room, where we received a friendly welcome from Madame. While we browsed the carte we were served wee walnut bread buns, which were delicious. Most of us had the â¬31 three-course meal, though a couple had just the two-course â¬27 version. After we had ordered, we were brought an amuse-bouche of a sort of pumpkin soup, which even those (me) who are not mad on pumpkins (nor indeed soups) found very tasty. It was a good meal, good service though the room was on the bright side.

Went with my husband and stayed a night at the Villa there. Everything was perfect on this day.The restaurant is an art piece itself. Most of the tables are window seated, and there is a beautiful lamp on each table. We started with a glass of champagne and had a whole menu. A bottle of red wine and a Sauternes to finish. Wine prices are reasonable . We had a 9/10 course menu, every dish was just perfect. I loved the dessert the most.Staff were very friendly, food was delicate, wine was superb.Romance in the air which we had a very nice evening. I definitely come back in 2018.

Travelling along a country road from Wissembourg, we reached La Petite Pierre and saw a signpost to an Auberge which we thought was an ideal location for a quiet and peaceful night. We finally picked the third room we looked at because it was spacious, a large bathroom (the bath catered for two if so desired), separate toilet, it was carpeted, felt warm and had a wonderful view of the forest. As we had eaten at lunch-time, we snacked in the restaurant that evening but I did notice that the meals coming out of the kitchen had very generous helpings. We had a salad and a soup, both very acceptable. Breakfast didn't offer a great selection but did cause an amusing incident. I asked for a boiled egg and put up my fingers indicating 5 mins. cooking time. The next thing I knew, I had five eggs placed in front of me! The young waiter, a most helpful young man looked crestfallen when I explained what I wanted, I managed to eat two and persuaded my husband to do likewise, then tipped the waiter when we left. I'm sure he'll be more careful in future as indeed will I. The countryside in this area is beautiful, wooded with a river running beside the road for miles. We were quickly travelling through so didn't explore but this is real walking country and the Auberge a place to relax in peaceful seclusion -an ideal location for a long week-end.

Restaurant du Chateau is right on the main drag of old town La Petite-Pierre. It's a bustling, energetic spot that fulfills both family dining and romantic night out expectations. The meals are substantial, so be hungry when you arrive. And (the good news) they are quite good, with a mix of the local Alsation fare and more standard dishes.Service is friendly and efficient, but you don't get the sense they're trying to turn tables. Not many options for dining in La Petite-Pierre. This is a good choice.

This place looked inviting but deserted when we entered the old frontage up narrow stairs at lunchtime. However, its clearly popular with locals (always a good sign) as we were amazed to find the huge, questionably-decorated dining room buzzing with customers, almost like a school refectory. We had an excellent tarte flambee and the plat du jour (chicken in riesling sauce with tagliatelli - pleasant but nothing special). Service was efficient and its certainly an ok place for lunch, especially with a family. Very clean. Reasonable value.

The Lion d'Or offers 3 dining rooms: The large 'Valle' dining room with seating for 150. The 'Village' room with seating for 30. The 'S'Lewestuewel' room with seating for 20.
We visited 'Au Lion d'Or' for dinner whilst staying at another of the village hotels. The hotel is an attractive building right in the village centre. The restaurant, at the back, is in a vast room which reminds one of dining on an ocean liner. Food was of a high standard and we were impressed by the complimentary 'amuse-bouches' which arrived before the starter and after the first course. The chef here is clearly serious and proud, and it showed. We had some stunning foie gras (no apologies whatever to the 'antis'!). A side-salad ordered for my wife who preferred not to have a first course was a little work of art in itself. Excellent wine-list. Pity the service was stiff and characterless (whilst nevertheless being perfectly efficient) and that there was no sign of senior support on the restaurant floor because otherwise one could easily have given this restaurant the top Trip Advisor rating .

We enjoyed the â¬18 menu with a very nice goats cheese salad followed by the local venison stew (Civet Gibier) that was superb and apparently all locally sourced. Good choice of wines and a very nice house wine. Restaurant has a lovely view of the old town - all most enjoyable and good value.

We stopped at Aux Trois Roses for lunch after being turned away by a snooty maitre'd at another restaurant (no reservations). Although our French is weak and we weren't dressed in designer clothes, the staff at Aux Trois Roses greeted us warmly and treated us with respect. Anyone with food sensitivities will appreciate the allergy list on the menu's last page, showing what dishes contain ingredients that many have issues with. The decor is lovely, the views stunning, especially on the terrace, and the food very good. Thank you ATR for a delightful experience.

We have tried several restaurants here and this one was the best without any doubt. The interior is nice and rustical, the personal is friendly and professional. Foods were delicious and beautifully presented. The menu is a bit short but it changes frequently. Huge selection of vines. If you go there I suggest this restaurant! (probably better to reserve a table)
