Josephine crêpes have nothing to do with a real French crêpe, they are prod to say this. The crepes are really full of everything, frankly I am not Brazilian and I like the traditional one.

Classic French cuisine with contemporary touches. In the lounge, the best selection of jazz and MPB (Brazilian popular music).
We had one night in Recife - just to make plane connections - and had the good fortune to walk into Mingus. What a delightful, professional experience. Fine service, food and piano music. When we arrived, there was only one other table occupied and we were concerned. But it was just timing. By the time we left, the restaurant was almost full. There was a staff member who spoke English and could accommodate our requests. The restaurant is around the corner from the Best Western hotel. While a highly professinal, white tablecloth restaurant, the diners were of all ages and from casual to elegantly dressed.

Food was tasteful, well prepared but nothing really different or surprising. Portions are relatively small, considering the waiting time. Service was poor. Sunday lunchtime and the house had only 3 waiters to serve c.a. 12 tables / 4 to 6 guests each. Dishes took more than 40 min to be ready.

Bercy's Creperie was a fun surprise to find in Brazil. I love their crepes, particularly the ones with shrimp and cod. Tasty and artistically served. The restaurant is also lovely with an outdoor feel, even though inside.Fun play area for children.

I have been there several times and find the food and service to be above standard. A true International experience and a nice break from the traditional churrascarias found throughout the area. Don't get me wrong, I love a good Brazilian churrasco but sometimes it's nice to eat a little more formally and receive undivided attention from a devoted staff. This is where we bring friends visiting from the U.S.A. We are going again, tomorrow, to introduce Wiella's to some special friends.

Have been there many times with friends. Nice environment and service with a modern/queer tone. Reasonable price. Good food. The menu offers from basics to creative alternatives - it is usually worth to try the more adventurous ones and the waiters usually have good suggestions. My favourite recent discovery is the coconut mousse with guava. Also, the restaurant is located in a nice shopping gallery with some independent labels.

The Nez Bistro is a French-Italian restaurant located in the district of Casa Forte/Recife. Opened in December 2007, works in a townhouse of the seventeenth century.
Ate there while in town for the holidays with a family friend. It was a Wednesday evening around 9pm and it was fairly crowded, though the area upstairs was less so. First, the building itself has a lot of character and simply arriving makes you excited about eating there (particularly given the number one TA rating). The crowd was definitely upscale, suggesting it is the "it" place in town to be seen. There is definitely a wine focus for this restaurant (Nez means "nose" in French), with bottles lining the walls. I was not overly impressed with the diversity of wine, but we found a good bottle to enjoy. We shared the bacalhau appetizer, which was better than I have had in the past. I had the filet au poivre entree, which was much different than I am used to in the US - not spicy at all and fairly sweet, almost like American barbecue sauce. It was good, but the meat was not as soft as I would have hoped for in a filet mignon. We shared the apple pie dessert and it was delicious. The service was just ok - nothing wrong really, just that our server was not as present as I would have liked him to be. Overall I would definitely go back, but I would try a different entree.
