Recommendable, being close to Le Poirou Hotel. Menus are expensive, according to French standards, but the food quality is good and the service correct.

We called 20 minutes in advance and they still had a table for us, so after a small walk threw town we made it to their terrase in the quiet little street where they are located. Apetizer was a baby-squid with salad, main dish were kidneys with some steemed vegetables and to end that we had a plate of cheese (brie de meaux, compté 2 yrs, Saint-Nectaire 4months). The whole dinnner was very enjoyable. The waiter (and probably co-owner, I'm not sure) an excellent host! The wine with the apetier a very nice Montgilet (white, 2012) and with the main course it was a "Petite Syrah" (Cevennes, 2013). Affordable and nice. My guess is you will not be dissapointed if you book a table here.

I have eaten there now several times and each time the food has surpassed my expectations and the price is so very fair. Great staff and welcome

very simply a perfect dining experience. An absolute delight, high quality without pretentions, here is a chef who takes real pleasure not only in excellent food but in creativity and presentation. The staff were efficient and charming. Decor chic, calm atmosphere. Only one question, When are you moving to Paris ? We need more restaurants / chefs like this.

We stopped in last night as other restaurants are closed on Monday, and our inn proprietor assured us we would be happy. When we arrived and parked, I must admit we were a bit leery as it was not much from the outside. But what a nice surprise. We were warmly greeted by the owner and led to a lovely table overlooking the river. We had a delicious dinner of escargot, four cheese salad and amazing pizza. It was a great experience and reminded us to look further than the street side vision! Were we in the area again, we would not hesitate to return, this time for the inviting lasagna that lots of people had ordered.

Stumbled across this great palce whislt walking around Issoire. It is really a cheese and wine emporium where you can while away your lucnh time or whatever eating cheese.Phil is on hand to preapre your cheese platter, for 30 Euro you get the largest selection of cheeses from the region and wider France that I have ever seen for lunch, we didnt have wine because there was so much cheese the wine just wouldn't have complimented all of them, so we stuck to water, but clearly up to you.Phil is a nice guy can't talk much English but we managed, lots of french people with their families coming in and out.Really great lunch time of cheese

Le petit roseau, now in much larger premises near the park and station, started out in this restaurant. The new owners have taken over the walls, tables and kitchen, and, clearly intend to make as big an impression on the town as their predecessors. An excellent meal, pleasantly presented, perfectly cooked. These guys will do well!

We ate here during a weekend in the region. Although there was nothing vegetarian on the menu, the chef prepared us an exquisite five course meal, including soup, salad and risotto, with an excellent cheese board and delicious lemon tart dessert. Washed down with a fine red Burgundy wine this was a meal to remember. Itâs rare to find such âhaute cuisineâ vegetarian food in France, or such a sympathetic chef willing to go out of his way to adapt his menu and make it. The candlelit ambiance is relaxed and chic; the service friendly and efficient. This restaurant is highly recommended.

There is nowhere I would rather stop to dine (and therefore spend the night) between Northern France and our home in the Languedoc. Indeed there is nowhere near that home that comes near it. 3 outstanding courses plus a couple of sophisticated amuse-bouches and a pre-dessert for 32 Euros seems unbeatable value. The welcome is exceptionally warm. Even the 3 year old son of the owners shakes hands with every diner before heading for his bed. (He's almost worth the booking on his own!) Not for the first time, we arrived exhausted and left on an absolute high!
