La Brasserie-Bar Le Moderne vous propose, dans lâancien Grand Hôtel Moderne à Bulle, un lieu inspiré de la Belle Ãpoque.
The atmosphere in this bar is great. The decoration puts a cosy atmosphere and is being conductive to relaxation and good time with other half or with your friends. The personnel is dressed with taste as well. Nice choice of beers and wines. A small cocktail bar opens at night offering a large variety of classic and original cocktails.
Action spéciale ou menu habituel? Je ne sais pas... Mais les trois sortes de poulets en différentes cuissons m'ont beaucoup plus. L'avantage du Mac?Do est d'être ouvert tard le soir.

Two other restaurants, more highly rated, where I wanted to have lunch, were closed. It was a Tuesday.So, I luckily fell on this place and ate in the cafe part. I was met with a genuine smile and was amazed as all 4 service "ladies" were, it seemed, constantly smiling at the customers. But I was not there for the smiles, but for a good lunch. I was positively surprised. The smiles were a bonus.I took the daily menu, of which there were two choices. One fish menu, which was a Queue de Cabillaud curry/cacahuete at CHF 20.50, and a meat menu, which was a Roti de Veau aux bolets CHF 19.50. Both were preceded by either a salad or soup. I choose the soup and the Veal.The mixed vegetable soup was of the "thick" variety (not some "dish-water" kind) and very tasty. The Veal was a substantial portion and cooked just right. It was served with noodles and a mix of fresh vegetables. It was lacking a bit of salt, but better this way than too salty!I had two "deci" of red wine with the meal and a coffee after and when the bill came it was my turn to smile...CHF 31.30!It was a very pleasant experience!!

Restaurant is nicely in the city center and they still had space when we arrived late on Saturday night. We ate a fondue Moité-Moité which was very good (thought portion could have been bigger - or maybe it was just too good).Prices have been reasonable and service was good and friendly.

In a warm and pleasant setting, close to the village of Gruyères , we offer, in addition to food and regional specialties, imaginative cuisine , highlighting local products . Our concern is to offer you a relaxing and fun moment in a friendly atmosphere ;
We came here by default because the restaurant in the Maison du Gruyere said that they would not be able to provide us anything to eat in the 45 mins we had before our train left (even though the restaurant was empty). So we crossed over the road and tried the Brasserie. We were the only customers, but got a friendly welcome. We had exactly what we wanted - a croute de Gruyere ie Ham and (lots of) cheese on toast, and a bier pression. Not challenging cuisine, but very well done. Expensive for a brasserie (20 CHF), but probably similar prices to the restaurants in Gruyere Ville. Given that the brasserie is literally on the station platform, we had plenty of time to catch our train.

Very close to the famous Gruyere town, the Auberge is hiding at the bottom of a narrow country path. Local food in a very nice traditional deco. Very nice service, few rooms if you want to stay the night. Worth looking for it if you want to avoid the tourists crowd.

We wanted to try the Double Cream and meringues before leaving Gruyères. We were not disappointed. The meal was heavenly and I highly recommend getting it with the berries. Our customer service experience was fine so I canât speak to what others have mentioned regarding pricing disparities. I would go back if I were in Gruyeres again. For what thatâs worth.

We went to this place for a drink after an excellent dinner in Gruyeres. We were a bit in a rush because we had a train to catch little after. We tried to ask whether we could have a liquor on the go and were told on a very unpleasant tone to sit down. When we asked if they had a menu for drinks the staff started laughing behind and the waiter serving us told us plainly what do you want to drink? In the meantime my boyfriend went to the bathroom so I ordered a drink saying to wait for my bf him as i didn't know what he wanted. I then went myself to the bathroom and when i got back was told 'are you just here for the bathroom or what?' by the staff? Needless to say we didn't order anything else, didn't touch the drink, paid for it and just left. There was no sort of language problem here (I'm French mother tongue and my boyfriend English mother tongue). We were just amazed at the rudeness of the staff behind the bar and the waiter who looks like the person in charge at the time outside. Which is a shame because the place actually looks quite nice.

I went to this restaurant for lunch and was most pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The business lunch is great value for money. I strongly recommend this place. Make sure you book your table in advance.
