Chef José Fernandes is inspired by the past that he combines with the flavors of the day, elaborating typical dishes of the region, with a touch of originality and creativity, even in the presentation of dishes. The establishment welcomes you as well for
The completely rebuilt and restyled Buffet the La Gare has exceeded our expectations. The kitchen is still top notch, but now set in a nice spacious, modern but warm setting with open kitchen. I especially like the Brasserie section, try to get a window table. Will not try to describe the food, other then to say each course was both beautifully and originally presented and truly delicious. Wide range of local and foreign wines, in all price categories and bottle sizes. The service from Luis was the perfect mix of professionalism, good advise ("suggest you do not combine these 2 plates; this would be good choice of wine") and friendliness. Need to specially mention the chariot des forages - not to be missed if you like cheese. Not often you find such a wide choice & each one excellent. Lastly all this at good value for money. Highly recommended, we'll be back soon.

We had walked past the Auberge Communale de Prangins on many occasions but our recent dinner was the first visit. Fortunately we reserved, as the restaurant was full on the evening of our visit. There is a limited selection of starters and mains, but the staff will tell guests about specials (starters and mains) on offer which are not on the printed menu. I had a daurade ceviche with mango as starter, which was pleasant but not too exciting. My dos de cabillaud was well cooked but a trifle dry - some sauce would have helped, as the pesto coating was a little on the dry side. Our daughter had a very good beef dish as children's menu, and my wife a poulet fermier des Dombes as a main which was good. The Chardonnay from Ardèche that we had to accompany the meal was very pleasant and fairly priced.

We visited for lunch , more or less on impulse. The service was attentive without being fussy, the food a delight. The malakoff were as expected, The best anywhere. However it was the quality and presentation of the main course meals that represented, for the money, perhaps the best value in Vaud. The fish dishes were a delight, crisp and unctuous. If you want a low key local treat, this is the place to go.

Sitting nicely on the village edge the Auberge looks over the Chateau Vineyards.I can imagine in summer the terrace area would be packed as you couldn't find a better vista. The service was exceptional & the fixed menus whilst expensive were beautiful. For starter we had lasagne with a lobster bisque sauce ( with generous pieces of lobster) followed by the classic of 'Filet de Perche). The actual perch were some of the best we have had..... golden brown & larger than normal. Finally a Creme Brulee which I must say tasted like a real English custard !!! Bravo.

Fantastic meal last evening with our family. Fantastic. The restaurant was busy but the service was nevertheless attentive and excellent. As usual the food was top. The “little Perche du Lac” were particularly good. Overall, a fantastic fantastic meal and evening.

Vacances : Ferme des le 3 septembre 15h jusqu'au 20 septembre. Reouverture avec la nouvelle carte de chasse. A bientot !
I was taken here for lunch recently by Swiss friends. They have a good selection of seasonal fare as well as fish from the lake (Lac Leman). It is advisable to book and in good weather one can also sit outside. It is open both for lunch and in the evening and very popular indeed, with both locals and with those from further away. It was packed when we went, but fortunately we had reserved a table.Polite and helpful friendly staff who are also able to recommend various dishes. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

New restaurantt enchanting decor great service, nice location with view on the Jura & the Alps. You will love it, welcoming owner with delicious food...reserve before as it is always surer to get a table ( always crammed) It has a small default; very noisy, I hope they will do something about it soon. It isn't very easy to find as it's not on the main road. But worth the try for sure. I really reccomend if youre looking for a change outside Geneva.

Always nice to go to Balthasar, never disappointed. The manager greets you at the entrance, the staff is nice and helpful, the food always delicious. We had cocktails maison and the formule, steaks and chips and secret sauce and fish. The Christmas deco was perfect as well.
