Visited Smiling Coast Guesthouse just the once during our stay and wished we'd had more time in The Gambia to go back again. The atmosphere was wonderful, the owner quirky and so friendly and the music and locals were fab.Enjoyed dancing on the mosaic tiled 'dancing floor' where even the tiles welcome you!!!Great prices and even better welcome.

Nothing special at first sight, a simple outdoor restaurant,Gambian style.But then the food came: I had the most expensive item, a grilled pepper steak($6.00) delicious-my friend had grilled fish ($4),excellent.Then came the chocolate brownie and vanilla ice-cream,a dream($2).The restaurant opened a year ago, the chef used to work in a well-known restaurant.His food is better and much cheaper.The restaurant only uses fresh ,local products.The restaurant is located at Bakau,near the petrol station.Tel 220 7553262- 3934267

We ate here several times we really like the tapas, we usually share three or four dishes. We also had chicken and the shrimp curry, everything was always very tasty. would not hesitate to eat here again
