Estavayer-le-Lac [estavaje l(ə) lak] (Arpitan: Thavalyi-le-Lé (help·info)) is a former municipality of the canton of Fribourg, situated on the south shore of Lake Neuchâtel. Estavayer-le-Lac is located between Yverdon and Bern. It is the capital of the district of Broye. The municipality of Font merged on 1 January 2012 into the municipality of Estavayer-le-Lac. On 1 January 2017 Bussy, Morens, Murist, Rueyres-les-Prés, Vernay and Vuissens merged into the new municipality of Estavayer.

La chasse...à tomber! Crème de courge à lâhuile de truffe, médaillons de chevreuil, spätzli, garniture, tout est incroyable !! Et que dire de la crème brûlée aux noix...une explosion de saveurs! Label « fait maison », produits choisis avec soins!Petit plus: le patron vient saluer! A conseiller !

The best place to eat between Yverdon-les-Bains and Estavayer-le-lac by the lake of Neufchatel. Nice decor; relaxed atmosphere; good food. Right on the beach. Such a shame that the service can be really bad - so don't be in a rush.

Restaurant situe dans un petit village, nâayant de problèmes de parking por si rendre.Bon accueil.Salle spacieuse, seul bémol pour moi la lumière est fade. Service correct, mais a la fin du repas longue attente pour avoir le fromage.Cuisine et mets corrects, pour les prix un peu cher.

Hidden away in the sleepy village of Sauges, what a find - my partner and I tried the 5 course surprise menu with accompanying wines and it was quite simply delicious - fine food at its best, beautiful to look at and so full of flavor. My partner is a big eater and he was worried he'd still be hungry afterwards but not at all. Amounts were just right - delicate but fullsome where you needed it in the main. Bravo! Excellent service, very nice accompanying wines. Only critique I would say is the main room is a little overlit for me with overhead spotlights in the ceiling and a little too sparsely decorated - didn't feel cosy.

Having recently visited the Restaurant du Jura, my first impression was that it seems like an institution. The large garden, which is tastefully covered with sun sails, is full with families enjoying a Sunday lunch.The restaurant specializes in local fish - there are a few dishes with three types of different fish. I had the trout with chanterelles - unusual combination, but delicious. Their selection of local wines (Chasselas) is also nice and shows off the best of what canton Vaud has to offer.The service is quick, friendly and competent.

We booked a table at this restaurant blind after searching the Internet for a suitable location to meet friends. We were not disappointed. We were a party of four and we enjoyed a three course meal. For mains, three had fish and one had meat , all cooked to perfection. The salad bar in the form of a rowing boat was quaint and full of delicious food. Desserts were of a high standard. We had a local Chardonnay wine aged in wood which was truly exceptional.

La Gerbe d'Or is a nice restaurant at the old center of Estavayer. It is a small place with very good food and a very friendly service. The salad served was very good with a very nice vinaigrette. The fish soup served in a large bowl and with garlicbread and aioli was very good as well though missed a little the spicy touch I like in such a dish.
