The duck-focused meal at the Ferme du Cassou is a special event. The LaFargues offer a menu-based traditional Gers region meal at their farm. M LaFargue takes care of the service; Mme prepares the bountiful and delicious meals. Upon arrival, guests are served the traditional Gascon aperitif, Floc. The entree is served next (guests have pre-selected), and the preparation of foie gras is perfect. The plat, the main course of duck, comes next. Again, pre-selected from a variety of offerings. Dessert follows, cafe, and all is topped off with some of the Ferme du Cassou Armagnac (which is also excellent). Our mid-day dejeuners lasted some 3+ hours, the meal is hearty but well-paced. We were there twice during our recent stay in Gondrin. If you like duck this is for you. Reservations and menu preselection required. Highly recommended.

We had to drive for an hour but well worth it! Every course was filled with innovative flavors and beautifully presented and explained. All details were well thought out... the butterfly theme even on the magnet holding down our âlâadditionâ. We will highly recommend this place tucked away in the Gers country side. Thank you Fabien & Hélène for having the courage to start this bistro !

We were staying nearby on the grounds of the golf course. The evening meal was great value, well presented & very tasty. It's off the beaten track, but the couple that run the restaurant made us feel very welcome.

Eauze has a great farmers market on thursdays, one of my favorites, after that most locals meander over to Le Divan for either a coffee or a quick lunch. They have renovated the place, and it looks like a cafe in Barcelona...nice! The waiter is a kick, and the food can be good at times, especially after being at the market all morning. Worth it for the ambiance alone!

First visit to the restaurant and we were greeted by the owner who is a great character and made us very welcome. His wife is the Chef and the food was terrific. Beautiful outdoor tables in a lovely garden setting, children welcome and a great evening. You should book as it has limited capacity but if you are visiting Eauze make sure you give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Eauze, in the Gers region of southwest France, has lots going for it: a lovely medieval village with a charming central square; a couple of fantastic restaurants (The Loft and La Vie en Rose) and a wonderful Thursday market. But, until now, it really didn't have a casual but sophisticated place to taste some of the region's best vintages. Happily, Le Bar du Marche wine bar opened in early summer 2017, started by a group of friends, and with its super location (across the street from the marketplace) and its good selection of wines and tapas, it looks like it will be around for quite awhile! There is pleasant indoor seating (this former workshop has been transformed nicely with some elegant and innovative architectural touches) and a really pleasant patio area where patrons can enjoy the balmy summer and autumn evenings. This is where we prefer sitting as we sip a chilled glass of Drappier Champagne or a distinctive red wine known as Cabardes. Food, tapas-style, is also served here...and it is delicious. There is a variety of plates to order, but the platter of charcuterie (cheeses, meats and a pepper-tomato bread) is highly recommended. The prices, especially for the quality, are extremely reasonable. Le Bar du Marche answers is only open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It is well worth a visit if you are in Eauze or the general area.

Some complain that the menu changes infrequently but what is produced is excellent. The Patron / Chef knows his sauces.

We ate here on a Sunday evening, grateful that it was open for dinner when most places around the town center were closed. We got there early, which seemed to tick off the bartender although we ordered drinks while we waited. However, when it was time for them to begin serving dinner at 7, the wait staff had arrived and the server was very pleasant. The place filled up with local families. The menu, of course, has duck which my husband got with a salad and it was good basic Gascony food. I had two eggs over easy with very good bacon and a nice small salad, which were good as well. I would say this is a local bar/restaurant with good food.

Have eaten here too many times to count now. It's the 'go to' restaurant for us to take any out-of-towners who are visiting. The service is friendly and professional, the table cloths and napkins are linen, you get a set of cutlery for every course (unusual for everyday dining in France), the wine list is decent and the food is consistently good. The menu contains a lot of duck based dishes, the steak is good, the frites hand cut and always very hot and fresh on the plate. Not had a disappointing dish yet and when the plates go down on the table, there is usually a 'wow' emitted from someone at the table just at the sight of the food. Only complaint is that the menu doesn't seem to change....but then when you do something so well, why change,I guess? Works for the transient tourist customer base but I wish they'd add some variety with 'specials'. Will be back again...and again, that is for certain.Thank you for your sympactic message. I understand your suggestion for change. We think to do that..... Again thank you very much to come again again and again.Sorry for my bad english . Best regard, The staff Henri IV

My wife and I revisited the Loft Restaurant and as always had an excellent meal. The staff are very understanding of minimal French but are very helpful. The food was excellent but as the restaurant became very busy the service time was longer. We recommend a visit and you will not be disappointed. Try the set menus they are good value for money. We will be visiting again soon.
