The restaurant was very busy on the day that we went with a large table affecting the service. Delivery of our meals, especially the mains, was slow - our mains arrived more than 90 minutes after our order was taken. Having said that, the food was good, with the French onion soup the best I've had. My main, mushroom linguine, was nice but a little lacking in seasoning. Apparently the kitchen was stretched to its limits and it showed somewhat in the mains. The table service was good, the staff friendly but I felt that another waiter would have helped.Overall I enjoyed my lunch and will go there again.Hi Peter,Thanks for your feedback. We normally have a policy of not responding to reviews be they good or bad.I feel in this case I need to address your concerns. We pride ourselves on our food and service at Bouchon and have established ourselves as the best restaurant in the area in a very short time. However, I personally made the mistake as owner of allowing a large group of 28pax to go full alacarte menu instead of a set menu as I should have done on Sunday. Totally my fault and my decision. The kitchen was also one short on Sunday too which did not help matters. We had other bookings arriving earlier and later than they booked which threw our pacing of bookings out as you can imagine.Perfect storm scenario. We strive for perfection at all times and get it pretty well close most of the time, I am the first to admit though if things are even slightly off the mark. Our apologies sir, I’m glad you enjoyed your food despite the wait time.We look forward to seeing you again under more favourable circumstances.Regards Hamish.

Eight of us arrived for dinner at 6:30 prior to an 8pm concert. We ordered immediately. After an hour many other customers started cancelling their meals. Consequently ours started arriving. Not together so some people were finished before others had their food. Some people were given different food to their orders. One person had their food changed repeated by the staff. The waitress said all this happened because there was no chef tonight, it had been the chef's birthday yesterday and she/he was not present today. One of our party was called a " stupid B" by the bar staff. Never, never again.

We were taken here with friends and I must admit on arriving at the carpark thought the place looked a little isolated with wide open spaces dotted around with various sculptures. At the door we were met by one of the staff and welcomed, a nice touch in this day and age and were quickly seated with water and menus delivered. There is a nice selection of wines mainly those produced by the winery and both their reisling and Cab Sav were delightful. We began by sharing a Charcuterie plate and this came with a loverly selection of olives, assorted salami, chicken liver pate etc and you are able to choose which items you would like. We followed this with a delicious western plains pork belly and salad. simply divine. While we all chose the same dish I must say other meals passing us looked excellent. The kitchen is leased out and I can confirm that the chef is excellent and the staff are enthusiastic and professional. Also if you wish you can eat outside at tables overlooking the fields.Great find and we will be back.
