we have been there on a business meal. Service is very good, the restaurant nice and cosy, staff helpful (especially the lady who I would say is the owner). I guess food is typical but since I am not french, I'm maybe not the right person to say that.merci pour vos commentaires. au plaisir de vous revoir

Found this creperie open on a Sunday when most other restaurants were closed on the day of the World Cup final. But what a find! The welcome was very friendly and such a change from the impersonal approach of chain restaurants. You felt like this was a family business that valued its customers and took real pride in the food. We had the crepe with the home made burger and egg and a crepe dish with goat's cheese. Both were excellent. We only had time for coffee and a quick chat about the cycling and the football with the friendly and talented chef in his open plan kitchen so can't comment on desserts. I would highly recommend this place, these hard working owners deserve all the business that comes their way. En francais! Formidable!

Staying at IBIS hotel in Douai, this pub is at a mere 2' walk. The pub offers local dishes such as beef stew, etc. Nevertheless, according to our standards, it is slightly underperforming considering its "excellence" award from tripadvisor. The meat we ordered was ok even though the quantity of Potjesvleesch was limited but the vegetables were apparently coming from a tin can... There are three beers on tap: an unknown lager, a local ambrée and a tripel beer Averbode, from the Delirium brewery.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and insisted we booked in advance. It was very quiet when we arrived but quickly saw why booking is necessary. The food was very good and reasonably priced, service reasonably prompt and decor quirky.

This little restaurant is opposite the theatre. It is quirky and very French. The staff seemed to consist of the manager and a single young waitress. Although they did not speak English they were helpful. When we walked in we saw a man eating steak and chips. It looked delicious and we decided to have the same. Good choice - it was tender and tasty. Both sauces: pepper and cheese, were very nice. Bit disappointed with the dessert. We chose ice cream, which we'd seen topped with Chantilly cream (like our squirty cream) but we didn't have cream on ours, and creme brûlée, which wasn't the best. Still, we enjoyed it and would probably go again. The toilets are on the same level but a bit cramped and the ladies I'd right next to the open area of the gents, and you share a sink to wash your hands.

This I the second time I have visited here - it is great. English specking staff and host are pleasant, helpful and observant. It is right opposite the Gare du Douai (railway station) and close to CBD and shopping. I wanted a vegetarian salad and it was beautiful and plentiful. The coffee is great too. On a previous visit I had a gorgeous apple pie and ice-cream and it was delightful. Highly recommended.
