Let yourself be spoiled and order the 5 course surprise menu. Absolutely fantastic! We spend over 3 hours enjoying all the amazing taste combinations and didnât want this experience to end. Lovely selection of wines, very good, professional and enjoyable staff. We definitely will be back when we visit Nijmegen again.

My family and I, arrived at 18.45. We studied the menu and ordered a four course meal. After a little snack, a few amuses bouches were served, they were very tasty and beautifully plated so we were really looking forward to our dinner. The starter arrived at about 20.15 and the intermediate dish more than an hour later. The quality of the food was excellent well prepared and beautifully positioned on the plate. So we waited and waited for our main course. At 22.00 we asked how long the main course would take. it was almost ready but after 15 minutes still no main course. We were not hungry anymore, too much time in between the courses killed our appetite. So we decided to quit, so my son in law looked for the manager outside the dining room to explain the matter in a discrete manner.Unfortunately the manager was quite upset and entered the dining room and in the presence of all the other guests started a fervid discussion. Not very subtle. Also a staff of a restaurant has to realize the presence of teenagers, such long waiting times are difficult and children get easily bored.

Vesters is a luxury and still cosy place for an excellent dinner. We serve authentic dishes inspired bij the French cuisine. With every dish we selected a matching wine and we also have a nice wine list.
Although it is a fancy place, it still has a very familiar atmosphere which makes people feel at home. Loved the food and the fact that although we spend 2 hrs there, the plates were constantly coming, with nice explanations and also the wine pairing. A place to get conversations flowing and time to enjoy the flavoured food. Waiters were fantastic, english spoken fluently. Loved it!

My husband & I were in Norway for a week, then came to Netherlands for some WWII sites and museums. This hotel was recommended to us, and it was perfect! We got a suite that looks out over the valley! Beautiful! After being in the bustling city of Amsterdam for 2 days, this is just what we needed. Location is superb. View is amazing! Birds chirping & it is just idyllic. The room was amazing! I have never seen a bathroom like that one before. And, with a large soaking tub that was fabulous! The staff were very attentive to our needs. We were so relaxed that we asked if we could check out just a bit later than 11am, and they were totally fine with that. It was the BEST hotel we stayed at during our 12 day vacation. A little disappointed in the dinner meal. We had a new waitress who obviously wasn't trained in properly. Menu is not in English & she struggled to help explain it. We had our cell phones so did out own translation enough to understand menu. Food was good, very fresh. Service was slow...6:30pm reservations, & finished dinner close to 9pm. I know, I'm American & should eat slower, but that was a little too long! View from terrace gorgeous! Price was reasonable. If n the area, this is must to stay at. You will not be disappointed.

Again after a walk in the nature area of the St. Jansberg we entered in this friendly, cosy restaurant to take a tasty lunch. The ambiance is always good, relax. easy going. The dishes are very tasty, looking good and served with a smile. Really my taste of restaurant, also the portions are not to small but you have the chance to enjoy that what you choose from the menu. This is what I like, no venison steak of a 1 euro size but a real peace of meat. Same for the vegetables and fries. We came here often and will come back often, it is a a pleasure to stay and eat here.

Discover honest food and enjoy 'de Maas'.
Bediening uiterst vriendelijk.

Dined here during a recent business trip and was very impressed.Great indoor and outdoor dining space and large menu to choose from. Service is swift and accurate and meal prices good value for the quality and quantity.Always a good sign if non-residents use the restaurant, the place was packed out midweek!Good steaks... worth a try.

Honesty bides me to say that I usually don't have very high expectations from local restaurants - either the food is not inspiring or the service is lacking, causing the whole dining experience to be a bit lopsided. Fortunately, the experience at De Sjalot could not have been better. The service was excellent - even though our server had only been employed for a few days, her knowledge of the dishes and the cuisine was exceptional, her smile dazzling and her overall demeanor friendly, kind and inviting. The Moroccan-inspired food was superb - each dish, including the complimentary amuse, was beautifully prepared and plated with care and eye for detail. We ate more than we should have, stayed longer than planned and enjoyed every minute of it! You know that a dish is good when, weeks later, you can still picture it in your head and remember exactly how it looked, smelled and tasted. The quality of the ingredients, carefully and locally sourced (the chef has her own vegetable garden), and the love and care that goes into the preparation and plating of these dishes is fantastic and, in my experience, hard to find. Highly recommended.
