It is a planned community consisting of 10 self-contained villages. It began with the idea that a city could enhance its residents' quality of life. Creator and developer James W. Rouse saw the new community in terms of human values, rather than merely economics and engineering. Opened in 1967, Columbia was intended to not only eliminate the inconveniences of then-current subdivision design, but also eliminate racial, religious, and class segregation.

We moved out of the country July 2018 after having lived in Ellicott City for 25 years. Tersiguels was always our go restaurant for any special occasion. Even Sunday brunches. Always delicious, staff always super kind and attentive.

Enjoyed a late lunch here in this moderately priced cafe. This is a small place in an open air shopping mall, serving breakfast and lunch. There are many varieties of both sweet and savory crepes- the savory crepes can be obtained as sandwiches too. Service was fast - no one else around, probably was because we were in the cafe on a rainy Thursday within an hour of closing. Reasonable value- good quality ingredients. Around $8 or $9 for a crepe .

We love this little bakery! The food tastes like authentic french food, quiche, and the like. They even have a nice little (tiny) bottled wine selection, which I appreciate when I need "me-time". My husband and I often went in the winter and snuggled up to the little fire place. Very cozy.
