Had a lovely lunch at this place. The lady serving was so friendly and really accommodating to us as a family with a baby. Really enjoyed the food here too.

We came here for an excellent 3 course lunch for which we sat inside. The first thing to note is the beautiful decorated tiles from 1900 that cover all the walls. It is worth going inside for a drink just to see them. I however strongly recommend eating here .Our main course was recommended by the chef , who is the owner , and it was slow cooked pork rib with a glaze. My knife cut it just like butter and it was juicy and beautifully cooked .I had difficulty eating for some time after , in a pleasurable way. This place is definitely worth a try.

Firstly, you will not trip over this place. It is a fair way from the centre of town, certainly walkable but unless you know what you are looking for, you will not find it. However, it is very much worth checking out. We were directed to it by a local person as most restaurants were closed on the night we were there. So having found it, it was excellent. My fellow diners all had fish dishes which looked great and they were all very happy. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection. The host looked after us very well and we were so glad we followed up on the recommendation. Inside it's a little clinical and a reasonable size but if you are looking for a lovely, good sized and refreshing meal, head out here and you will not be disappointed....

.Not very interesting from the outside, it looked small and gloomy. But once inside it opened up like Dr Who's spaceship into a sizable dining room which quickly filled up of an evening until it was bursting at the seems!Full of happy people enjoying fast, furious and friendly service (the waiters must have been exhausted by close of play!) and good food from a menu with an excellent choice. We found it by accident, but would love to go there again, on purpose..

Ate here twice recently having the lunchtime special. 14 euro for three courses and an amuse-bouche.Imaginative food well presented, the young serving staff helped us, with their English and our French understand the menu.A leisurely lunch with a lovel river view.

We were staying close by on a fishing holiday and the owners recommended this restaurant. The weather was beautiful and we sat on the terrace overlooking the river Mayenne. There are various menu's to choose but we went for the menu decouverture (weekdays, 14.5 euro). It was fantastic value for the quality of food we received; a refreshing prawn salad starter followed by beef and potato dauphinoise and a assiete of desserts. a half bottle of well-chilled vouvray sec at 12.5 euro went very well with this! Not to mention very good service, bread and two amuse bouches. We had to go back again..this time a lovely starter of duck (landaise?); including fois gras and rillettes and a beautifully presented dessert of profitterolesGood food and wine in a lovely setting for 50 euro inc. gratuities and coffee..best value!

A clean and modern brasserie type restaurant in the centre of town. Nice choices on the fixed price lunchtime menu, well presented and cooked. Interesting cuisine with a bit more inventive flair than most. Not for eating everyday but nice for a treat. Staff speak good EnglishNo private car park, only town centre parking which can be tricky some days.

We stayed in Chateau Gontier overnight for our last night in France at the end of a great Motorhome holiday. After walking and driving around the town for some time looking for a good restaurant we were surprised to find this place at the back of the large riverside car park where we were parked, 100m from our motorhome! The food, wine and service are second to none and if you enjoy fine dining we would highly recommend it. The two ladies at front of house were friendly but unobtrusive and coped well with our appalling French! We had the 46⬠menu preceded by wonderful appetisers and a muse bouch. The lobster risotto is to die for, the filet steak cooked to perfection and the orange soufflé, a house speciality, is fantastic. We will definitely return.
