Finally got to visit Enfin du Vin! A superb cave selling fine wines from across the Loire region along with selection of gourmand specialities. Simply a delight. Good parking on the opposite side of the road - meaning easy access. Steps down lead to the cave with bar. There's one Barnum covered eating area on the way in, and another outside area behind the cave, which overlooks the river. A good spot for a picnic. The cave is really well laid out. Terrific range of wines and pétillants. Wine can be bought in quantity to take away, but it's also a lovely place to stop for a glass of wine and brunch or plate of something, as we did to day. We had a glass of Cendrillon and a delicious Anjou, with a trio of rillettes. Every single mouthful of wine and food was gorgeous. www.enfinduvin.com

FONTEVRAUD LE RESTAURANT / HAUTE CUISINE ... BOCUSE STYLE, 1 MICHELIN STAR Adjoining the hotel, at the centre of the Saint-Lazare priory's peaceful haven, is Fontevraud Le Restaurant, whose kitchen is headed up by young chef and Bocuse d'or prizewinner 20
We received a Menu de Lune for two as a present for our wedding and it was a very exciting experience since we had never been to a Michelin restaurant before. It's fantastic that they use local produce and seasonal fruit and veg. Berries used for the dessert even come from the Abbey's garden!Elegant presentation and dishes full of flavours â it's a great place for a special event for a couple. Waitresses seemed tired to me, but it was the end of the weekend so it's understandable.Dear guest,We thank you for having shared your experience on TripAdvisor.Kind regards.

This restaurant has a wonderful terrace with views of the chateau and Loire River. The food was perfect from start to finish! I had the salad with goat cheese and prosciutto followed by duck with mushroom sauce and finished with a local dessert with meringue, cream and raspberries. I could have licked the plates! Add the local white wine and it was just right!

We found that finding dinner in Fontevraud-dâAbbaye a challenge. The first night the restaurant said they were closed (30 minutes before posted time). The next night they said we needed a reservation. So we were forced to look for dinner in a nearby town. We found this restaurant on the corner as we came to the river. We were seated at a table outside on a warm summer evening. I canât remember what my wife had but I ordered a beef steak with fries and lemon meringue pie for dessert. I forgot the beer too. Although it wasnât the best steak I had on this trip it was acceptable and the prices here were very reasonable. The service was friendly and quick too.

Although the food was excellent in this restaurant we were not at all impressed with the service. We were shown to our table on a very warm evening and then left for sometime before even being offered a drink of any kind, not even water. We eventually ordered some white wine from the wine menu but when one of our party requested just a single glass of red wine to go with his main course, the waiter just brought him a glass without even offering him any choice.Generally we felt the place lacked atmosphere and was too formal, what a shame because as stated earlier the food was indeed excellent. Well done to the chef!

We fell into this place by accident, having done no research, and crossed our fingers. We took the 19⬠menu of the day. We were not disappointed. It was great food, verging on the gastronomic. Couple that with impeccable service and this was a winner all round. Top job.
