Acting on a recommendation and taking advantage of the spring sunshine we drove into the hills for lunch. The hamlet of Plaisians is almost Alpine with a stone church and 'that view' of Mt Ventoux. We were able to sit outdoors, and enjoy the atmosphere as the dining room is a bit dated. The place was not busy and the waitress was attentive and chatty. If you choose one of the menus its best to come hungry and linger longer. The courses are copious and numerous from the 'fromage de tête' served as a pre-starter to the quince jelly to finish so pace yourself and be sure to leave room for the fantastic cheese selection, one tray each for cow's and goat's cheeses. The cuisine is rustic, home cooked and biased towards meat eaters with offal featuring strongly. There's no delicacy but no pretentiousness either, just honest French regional cooking.

We stopped here for an overnight stay with our two young children. What a wonderful place!! A lovely swimming pool to cool off in after the heat of the day. The rooms were very clean and fresh and the food cooked for us in the evening was wonderful too. Very local and simple, but ever so tasty, even the children enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It is set in a fantastic location under the St Julien rock.

We ended up in this remote village and found this cozy relaxed place, next to the petanque /jeu-de-boules court at the top of the village . The outdoor furniture is home made out of pallets and basic poles but adds to the typical character of this place. The menu mostly uses local products and there is magnitude of good drinks and coctails . The food is great but not cheap but then again the location is simply golden . The village is located between Buis-les-Baronnies and Poet-en-Percip which is a dead end street . Needless to say that there is hardly any traffic . Good vibes .

This became our "go-to" place during our 3-week stay in Buis-les-Baronnies; the food is excellent and the location in the village square brings you into the centre of the (summer) village life. Beautiful salads, great galettes, great service (they get very busy) and good wine choices.

It is a touristic restaurant but nicely situated next to the bridge. It has an open terrace, better than the crowded packed terraces at the other side of the road. The menu is simple, but the food tasted very good. Not to expensive, the right price for the right food. Just touristic kind of menus: pizza, burgers, meat and fish on the menu. Nothing fancy but good quality. The staff is friendly and we were serverd quickly. (at the moyenne season)

New restaurant in Buis. Go indoors and upstairs, where you will find a wonderful view over st. Julien. The waiters will help you find the best menu and good wine. The wine is not cheap!! But for lunch 1-2 glasses will do just fine. Great food - we were very surprised and delighted to find the place!

The owners of this restaurant Yves and Pascale Verhaeren used to run a restaurant in Vilvoorde, Belgium years ago called 'the little poet' or in dutch 'de kleine dichter' . Now they run this superb lobster restaurant in an old historical building, serve great and mostly local wines, personally selected from local viticulteurs . Eye for detail, great service and you must make reservations upfront . Enter the door and go to the 2nd floor...to eat in the best restaurant of Buis and surroundings .
