Great atmosphere, great service, and super foods. Traditional foods of Britany area and some Normandy thrown in too. Nicely plated and great taste. Located in a small square up the hill from the tourist spot in St. Goustan. Get away from the tourist places and eat traditional foods with the locals.

We first ate at this restaurant five years ago when we first visited Auray, and have always wanted to return. It is situated halfway down the hill that leads to the harbour, with seating on the pedestrianised road outside.Food is very reasonably priced with one course for â¬10, two courses for â¬14 and three courses for â¬17. The adults had a main course each - beautifully braised veal with dauphinoise potatoes and veg, and hake in a spiced coconut sauce, served with rice. It was like very good home cooking. This was followed by two good espressos. The kids' menu comprised a main course and desert for â¬7. Our two little people chose the ubiquitous chicken goujons and chips. The chicken was beautifully cooked and sliced up. The chocolate mousse was delicious. Two good meals here - we hope to return again someday!

We discovered this place purely by accident. Although regular visitors to France this was our first visit to Auray and the very attractive St Goustan. Someone described it as the most authentic Breton creperie experience that you could have and I have to agree totally. We have a holiday home in Brittany and have had many crepes, non better than here. I have never seen as many people turned away or a que form outside waiting to get in to a creperie but I did today. Visit and enjoy !

One might say that Brittany offers three unique eats for a standard sequence (entrée -- main dish â dessert), but you'll never find this particular combination on any menu or special board: The Belon oysters, then the Breton galette (French: Galette bretonne), then, for dessert, the kouign amann (pronounced "queen amahn"). I'd already had the Belon oysters in the port at Belon, I'd had the kouign amann in Dinan, and now it was time for my very first Breton galette. And for that, the Crep' des Lys was a really lucky find on a cool rainy Thursday noon in late September. I actually wasn't thinking "galette", but this crêperie (which styles itself a "Selon de Thé" (Tea Room) was so inviting from the outside I could not resist. And what a fine warm welcome from the staff, what pleasant decor, and when my "galette complet" arrived, what a tremendous treat (see photo). The Breton galette looks like a very dark, rough crêpe, but it is not made of wheat flour, or any actual flour at all. It's made of "black flour" (ground buckwheat seeds), and the plant grows particularly well in Brittany. If you order the "galette complet" it will come filled with your choice of fillings, and if you order "egg" as one of those, as I did, you will find that inside the wrap there is a warm but otherwise raw egg. Which brings up the fact that the French are amazed and slightly turned off by the idea of eggs for breakfast, but they serve them, often raw, in some of their dinner dishes ... including their Breton galettes (if you order egg). I don't know what would happen if you ordered a fried egg (oeuf au plat) for your galette, but it's certainly worth a try at Crep' des Lys, for the personnel are quite polished and ready for anything. The meal was not expensive.

We used TripAdvisor/ The Fork to book this restaurant for 1200hrs on 10th May. We subsequently received a confirmation & reminders from The Fork. Despite this we discovered after driving some distance in the rain, that the restaurant is closed until June. There were other angry customers standing in the rain as well.Very poor performance!

We only visited this place for lunch on our last day! What a shame. Because the galettes (savoury crepes) are the best I've tasted in Brittany, crunchy and fine like lace, buttery with all the fillings well cooked and simply divine. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. We had a table outside and it was charming even under a very light rain.thank you for your comment so nice, soon perhaps in Britain!

Our first visit to this place and it exceeded our hopes/expectations. Good position with plenty of off road parking. Friendly helpful greeting with helpful level of English. Good menu choice with well prepared and presented meals. Carafe wines good quality and reasonably priced. It was busy when we went but not noisy. Comfortable space make it an easy place for all ages. We will definitely return!.
