I enjoy KFC as a product, but when the only cashier on duty is also the only apparent cleaner, then there's a concern, especially when the young man in question doesn't appear to wash his hands between each role.Sure, he used tongs to take the chicken from the warming area into the bucket, but there was no such care when putting in the base paper first.I took the risk in eating the chicken, which was delicious with no later repercussions, by the way, but there is definitely a management issue which needs to be addressed urgently if the franchise is allowed to continue while breaching basic health regulations. In a nutshell : food ok, customer service itself ok, everything else appalling.
This was our first visit but won't be the last. From the beginning, we were warmly welcomed and chose from their menu and it wasn't too long before our food was ready. Tasty, fresh and very enjoyable it was too.On the negative side, we found the store layout a bit stark and cold, needing something to warm the atmosphere, other than the capable staff's presence. That aside, it's a great addition to Timaru's food choices and being just off the state highway, I'm sure it will do well.
Where to eat Japanese food in Timaru: The Best Restaurants and Bars
We do chicken n chips and real chicken burger, beef burger, lamb burger, veggie burger, pies, Sandwiches.
Good prices and easy parking. I have only ordered hot food there once but it took ages so put me off going again. Always call in for milk and did again yesterday but they just need to be more friendly. Yesterday was the lady owner but she barely even spoke. Doesn't take much to be friendly, even fake it and we will continue to support them.
Lovely lady on the phone! Underestimated delivery time by 15 minutes & not hot on arrival, chips cold. Would pick up next time. Chips were $4.50 for a wee pottle!! Definitely great to try different kinds of pizzas & at good prices. Wish them all the best.
Great value fried food - consistent every time & very popular with locals. Garlic fries are to die for & the calamari rings are just right. Totally recommend

We were visiting Timaru briefly. After having an amazing walk with the dogs along the Boardwalk and around the Piazza (awesome place..child and dog friendly) we decided fish and chips on the front would be the ideal thing...Saw great reviews for this place"..so drove back on ourselves to find it...it states it opens at 1130 and as it was 12 by now we set off. When we got there the woman said it would be a wait as she had just opened. We wanted blue cod as we know how amazing it is and that we can't usually get it where we live. Bit surprised at the price $8 per piece but ordered it anyway. Waited a while which was OK as we know it takes time but if a place advertises it opens at 1130 I thought I should be ready to go...Anyway took our meal to the beach and ate it. Yes it was fresh and crispy but we don't think it was blue cod..the fish portions were really small and looked more like terakihi ... We feel somewhat ripped off and very disappointed....would not go back. Didn't have time to go back and complain directly but if they didn't have the fish they should have told us. We can question this cos at wanaka we did indeed have blue cod which was delicious....
