We often ask locals to recommend food places and this was certainly a winner. We had lovely fish and chips, well cooked with crispy batter over fresh fish and good chips. Good menu with something to suit everyone. Check out some of the meal deals if you have a good appetite!

WE went here twice. there Pizzas are excellent . the small ones are big enough, we are vegetarian and any pizza will be changed with no hassle. They use Quorn. Also they have a web site that is totally vegan. really excellent with great helpful staff who say when it will be ready and it is.

My husband picked up sushi for our dinner from here last night. We love sushi and have a regular and favourite place we get our sushi from in our home town so felt a bit unsure if we would enjoy something different. But enjoy it we did. It was all lovely and fresh and delicious and it was great that you could select your own pieces (there was a great range to chose from) rather than being confined to pre-made up packs. Big thumbs up from us and would definitely go here again.

We have kebabs from here regularly and they are all ways to a good standard. They have loyalty card, which they honor with no questions asked. my favourite is the mixed kebab and the humus is to die for.

My 10 year old daughter and I came to Taupo for cross country racing. We felt like having sushi for lunch afterwards. We went to 5 different sushi bars in Taupo centre and settled for Tokyo Sushi. We chose Tokyo Sushi for the plenty of choice, fresh salmon and tuna, and most importantly the teriyaki eel sushi, my favorite. Actually, my 10 year old pick this place because she found her favorites, fresh salmon and tuna avocado sushi. We thought the window bench is a pretty nice touch too, looking over the street and people watching is very interesting. We certainly didnât forget waving at our friends when they walked pass :-) we recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic sushi place in Taupo.

We always went to this take away when we lived in Taupo, and now after coming back for a couple of weeks - they are still consistently awesome! We love the variety & especially the fresh fish and scallops.

This is a first rate fish and chip place. They do excellent burgers as well. Ring first to make an order and save some time waiting. Their fish is always reliably good. A very good way to feed a big family. Good opening hours too.

Great place for a quick, easy yummy dinner. The mid-size was probably more than I needed but I did my best. Was a better size fit for my husband. Have been here a few times over the last few years and have enjoyed it every time.

Welcoming happy staff. The biggest variety of Sushi I've ever seen in New Zealand. Very clean and tidy restaurant. Can get very busy and one taste of the food and you know exactly why. A real credit to Taupo. Highly recommended and we'll without doubt be returning here next time we pass through.
