With about 120,000 people, Stavanger is Norway’s fourth-largest city and a fascinating mix of old and new. Its history stretches back deep into the Middle Ages. Stavanger was once a tranquil coastal market town and then later an important fishing port. But it was the 1969 discovery of oil offshore that forever changed the now bustling city’s fortunes and landscape. Don’t miss the well-preserved old town (Gamle Stavanger), the unique Canning Museum or the 12th-century Stavanger Cathedral.

Far East is located just by St. Petri Church on Nytorget. Our main priority is top quality food, good and fast service. That is why you can order our food both online and on the phone. We also have free wireless internet access while you are waiting or ea
First off this is a take away place that also can sit about 20 people if you decide to eat in. A small walk from the water front. Friendly staff helps this place work well. You can't get away from the felling that this place is a takeaway. Rating is for the taste of the food and waiting time. Would do eat hear again for a quick bite no problem. Would I take my wife here, probably not.280Kr for starter main and a bottle of coke.

My hubby and I stopped by for some take away. The service is always very good, friendly and smiling. We hadnât pre ordered but the food didnât take too long. And there are tables where you can sit and wait. The food is always fantastic. I had the green curry - vegan and with no rice, so they gave me more veggies and tofu. Iâd say its the best Thai food in town :-))

Los Tacos has just re-opened in Stavanger after expanding from a small takeaway joint to a larger restaurant/bar. I went there on a Wednesday night and the new facilities look great. There are a few tables, their funny slogans in neon light in various places and a new bar section that I assume close a bit earlier at night compared to the restaurant section. The menu is not extensive â there is a focus on tacos, burritos and bowls. I decided to have the BJK Burrito which is chicken with French fries, beans, lettuce etc. You make your order at the counter and the guy that was making the food was talented as he was making 4 burritos at the same time. Maybe it was a bit too busy â the guy that was making the food was using a gloves to take the lettuce, cheese etc but he was also using the cashier at the same time and maybe that is not the most hygienic. The burrito was rolled up in a sheet in the end, but it would have been nice to have a plate to bring it back to the table. It was also a bit strange that to buy a beer we had to go to the bar counter to get the beer there and pay for it and get a separate bill. The burrito was not that great in my opinion â the main problem was that it was lukewarm. I donât know if we came at a bad time as when we were leaving, it seemed like there was more steam coming from around the âpotsâ that was keeping the meat selections warm. It is of course not fair to review this is as a full fledged restaurant. This is fast-food joint that stays open late at night and my guess is that they make most of the money late at night when people are on the way home after being out for a few drinks.

Kebab and pizza take away venue serving Turkish specialities in central Stavanger.
It was the 17th May - the Norwegian Constitution Day - and we had been walking in the parade all morning. Traditionally, almost all restaurants are closed on Constitution Day. We were happy to find Istanbul Pizza Og Kebab doing a roaring trade at 12:00 noon. Despite being a fast-food joint, it is quite a light and bright venue, and we were lucky to have seating by the window to people watch as the parade continued. We ordered a Margarita pizza and a falafel kebab, and it came to around 190 kroner. The service was warm and friendly. The phrase that describes our experience best was that it hit the spot.
