If you want a good hamburger or perhaps the best in Los Angeles that I have found (an honest hamburger) is at In-N-Out. Try the double-double cheeseburger. They cook to order and their French fries are sliced and cooked in front of you. It is very good.

This is an old fashioned diner and if thatâs what you want, donât miss this place. Portions are good sized for the price and the service is great. If youâre not a diner type person, this might not be the place for you. Lovely that itâs nostalgic without being a greasy spoon.

3. Get Shaved Northridge

First time at the get shaved ice shack and it was surprisingly better than I anticipated. I was imagining a snow cone like the ones off the ice cream trucks but this was smooth shaved ice almost creamy in texture. There are about 32 flavors of syrup to choose from with which you can choose 3 to top your ice. You can also get one free topping free such as marshmallow, condensed milk, or pico de gallo powder. (Yikes!) Needless to say, you can create quite the variety if you should choose and everyone in my party loved their order. Besides the shaved ice, they also offer shakes, floats, sundaes and ice cream. The service was a little slow with one worker running the place on a Monday evening but overall, we waited maybe about 15 minutes for our order which we could live with. This was a good alternative to frozen yogurt and priced comparably. We'll definitely be back.
