We were excited to try this authentic bread and ordered one for each person in the family. The guy making them was not very friendly and didnât really ask what each person wanted, so that effected our feelings of the place. In the end we enjoyed the laugh but they could do more with the filling choices and then were surprised to find that each one cost 35 shekel which is the price of a shawarma and not as filling.

We ordered the big dish for a family and even though it arrived quickly at our table it soon became evident why speed was of the essence. Slim toppings and almost non existent cheese on the pie. When I asked the owner/maker about the lack of cheese he said that all pizzas are made using the same recipe and quantities, something that truly means that I will avoid this place for as long as I can. I might be a high class pizza eater, but having lived in New York City for over a decade, I know what good pizza should be like. And this De Leone pizza is not, simply put.

Abu Yuvi ("Yuvi" is a nickname for Yuval -- the owner) is a humous and soup restaurant located in the artists quarter of Safed/Tzfat. It is family owned and run. From the outside it might give the appearance of a fast food place -- but inside is a very homey and comfortable dining room. The service is excellent. One may choose from several varieties of humous (we tried two and they were wonderful) and soups (the two we had were also excellent). A selection of drinks includes boutique beers and, of course, soft drinks. This is normally Middle Eastern fast food, but it is served nicely in a sit-down restaurant.
