We passed this spot going from Postojna caves to Predjama castle. Itâs on a cute piece of property, with a play area for kids outside ( so nice for our kids!). Food was huge, and beer was good. Service was fast, polite. Indoor and outdoor seating available and they did take credit cards. If youâre out that way, weâd recommend a stop.
It's clear that people go to Postojna for the caves so near or around the caves everything costs much more than in the lower city. All we wanted was a bit of food, some service and that's it. Nothing fancy.I must say, the location itself is a bit off putting. The bar is situated on some repair shops territory. But that's just the visual part. I must mention that toilets are accessible only from outside, so you have to exit the bar, and if it's raining, you will get wet before you enter them. And of course on that day it was raining cats and dogs! The staff was nice, but unfortunately didn't speak a word of English, nor German, nor did she understand the basics of the customer service. For example, when I ordered one burger for two kids I asked her for additional plate. "No, no, we don't have" was the answer. Well, of course they do. But it was a bit of a hassle to sort these things out.About the food: burgers are huge and cheap! That's really the only plus side of the place. Kids can definitely split a burger, adults might even manage to eat the whole thing, although several other folks took half of their burgers to go :) Average burger costs ca. â¬4-6. Drink are relatively expensive though: 0,25l Pepsi is â¬1.8.I'm used to paying with debit/credit card. This place operates with cash only! Big no-no for me.So overall cheap place to eat, but staff could do with a bit more training. After all this is tourist location, consider that when hiring, OK.

After our visit to the cave, we came by for our lunch. As it was around 12.30pm, the place was packed with diners (both locals, staff and tourists) and service was slow, even when queuing for ordering the food. The place was huge, where diners can choose to sit inside or outside and was solely "self-service". It was bright and clean and we decided to sit inside as it was terribly sunny and warm outside. As we had a heavy breakfast and seeing a long queue being formed up at the food counter, we decided to opt for something easy and simpler. So we decided to have the Slovenian cream cake at the pastry section. While the queue there was shorter, service was still slow. Even when we requested for a cup of ice from the drink we purchased, we had to wait for a while. But the cream cake was nice, flavourful and not that sweet, which was good! Yummy.Wifi was not provided though we could login from the hotel next door but not stable. You can also use the washroom at the basement (it's free) and have some souvenirs or gift items from the little store located near the main entrance.
