Having read the rave reviews of this place we decided to try their chicken souvalaki pita- our favourite Greek lunch- extensively sampled in numerous Greek Islands and on the mainland ! We were firmly told that what we wanted was chicken pita from a gyros style spit arrangement. Accepting the local variation we eagerly ordered the chicken pita. Settled on the seafront we tucked into our lunch to find that it was disappointing on so many fronts. The pita itself was a little on the dry side and the tzatziki lacked any garlic flavour. The chicken itself was, what can only be described as, scrappy pieces of fairly dried bits if chicken and not the tasty, cooked to order souvalaki that we are accustomed to. Sorry, I realise that this place is very popular but I can't agree with the rave write ups based on my experience that day.

Ate here 2-3 times on my trip and the standard of gyros was extremely different each time. The first time being the best, however very small portion of meat. The last being the worst, lots of fatty, thick, rubbery meat which was extremely hard to even chew. Would not recommend due to the vast inconsistency. The chips both time were disgusting- undercooked and soggy with a strong taste of oil.

Situated on the corner opposite Ostraco, with its own restaurant area but also serving in Ostraco, This new outlet is a great addition to Plakias.We ordered the mixed Souflaki plate (on the recommendation of Nicos) Wow what arrive really surprised us. It came presented on an A frame display tray with slate inserts, On it were Lamb, Beef, Pork, and Chicken skewers, plus 2 meat balls on a skewer, 2 sausages, 3 pieces of haloumi, 3 mushrooms, cocktail sauce, barbeque sauce, Tazsiki, 4 pitta breads, chips and a Creatan salad of potato lettuce onion and egg. The food was tasty, tender and the presentation was excellent and great value.Both of us were really satisfied and were plesantly pleased with the service.Donât miss out on this place itâs a revelation.
