Not impressed. Ordered takeaway tonight. Two hours later still not turned up. 197 redials....phone engaged constantly. Bewildered lady turns up trying to explain she has neen an address not remotely related to ours!!! Not happy. Had just ordered alternative....think 2hrs and ten mins long enough to reasonably wait! Shocking.

We arrived in the area late and were stuck for something to eat so we had to find somewhere relatively local. The choices were the fish and chip shop or the Chinese takeaway, as the chippy was shut the decision was made for us.We ordered lemon chicken, 2 crispy chicken in cantonese sauce, plain boiled rice and a portion of chips.When we got home we found out that unfortunately one of the orders was wrong, 2 of the takeaways were supposed to be without veg but all 3 had no veg, not a major issue though.We plated the food and went to eat it, the cantonese dishes were vibrant in colour, extremely bright pinky/red. The chicken which was supposed to be crispy was anything but, the batter was soggy and quite sickly with the chicken being mushy. The chicken in the lemon chicken again was mushy and tasted as if it had been cooked with the skin on. The chicken in all 3 dishes was so soggy it was all lumped together. The chips were tasteless and the rice was coagulated.All in all a terrible eating experience, most disappointing.£22 of which about £18 went straight into the bin.

Had a mixed curry..2 weeks previously was really tasty...and sweet & Sour chicken ... so went back Sat..ordered Beef & Tomato...beef was tough and sauce was watery like Soup.no taste..horrible..Sczewan Chicken...again was watery no taste. Had no pancake rolls. So ordered spring rolls ...soggy not crispy horrible meal....

We regularly use this Take Away as the quality and variety of Chinese food is superb. The food is always piping hot and in huge quantities, usually enough for another meal. Good service by the staff and always a friendly, clean environment.

Seriously heard people say try chippies plaice there the best I've tried hanburys in torquay award winning squires north Devon again award winning in the country but wow this plaice is on the top level with them .infact I would say even better the batter so light the fish lovely thick pieces and the chips were the best plenty of salt and vinegar spotless in there and really lovely newton abbot owners credit to newton

Today we revisited Jacksons for lunch. Once again we were welcomed by a smiley member of staff and quickly seated. After deciding to have the OAP special ( COD, chips and tartare sauce, pot of tea and glass of orange, all for £5.95 each) we were served our drinks very quickly by another smiley member of staff. Our fish and chips came on lovely hot plates and looked delicious. And boy was it scrumptious. Thankyou once again Jacksons for a splendid fish and chip lunch at a very pleasing price. We will come back soon.
