Stewarts has been a Marion Main Street mainstay for many years. Try saying that 10 times fast and you'll be ready to quaff a root beer or two. In the name of research I tried the half pound garbage burger (don't understand the name- I would call it the kitchen sink burger,as in everything but the kitchen sink on it). Anyway, it was good and the root beer float was outstanding. Beats the national chain's frosty mug taste hands down. Total was six bucks, which I can live with. Order took 17 minutes to arrive, but a couple of big families had ordered just before I did. Tray pickup was prompt. Car hops wear shorts but do not rollerskate. Both covered and open parking and orders to go are available. All major credit cards are accepted. My only complaint is that it is really difficult to flip the tray pickup switch when the tray is still in your window. It is almost easier to have a passenger get out and walk around the vehicle so you don't knock everything off the tray trying to reach across.
We're Rolling is a counter space inside the Marion Walmart store, so there is no seating. Everything is to go, and the menu is pretzels, pretzel bites, pretzel dogs, drinks, and smoothies. The two ladies working there, a manager and a trainee, seemed genuinely happy to see me. I ordered the five dollar pretzel twist and smoothy combo and was charged 5.98. Turns out the dipping sauces are sixty nine cents extra. It doesn't say so anywhere on the menu board and the workers neglected to tell me that. I wouldn't have gotten the nacho cheese sauce if I had known. Anyway, the pretzel was good. The white chocolate smoothy was amazingly good. In fact, I think they should change the name to We're Flowing and focus on smoothies. Now that Groovy Spoon is gone, they could do a lot of business.

Somewhat busy on a weekend but had three people working- one taking order and slicing/ toasting bread, one finishing sandwiches, and one on register so there was no waiting. Dining area clean, bread was good. I made mine deluxe (double meat) for $1.50 for a foot long while my son got the meal combo of a six inch sub, chips and medium drink and said it filled him up.

Popeyes opened a new franchise in Marion at the siteof the former White Castle this week. I didn't make it to opening day but came the next day for lunch. It should last a long time if early trends continue. Eleven cars were crammed in the drive through and the the small parkinglot was full so I parked in the mall lot and walked over. Did manage to get an open table as most people were ordering to go. Their slogan is Lousiana fast, and the staff had the inside and outside lines moving along. They all seemed to work well together and enjoy their jobs. I thought about getting fish or shrimp but Popeyes is known for chicken so I ordered the three piece spicy combo. Got a leg, a wing, and a thigh plus a side of rice and beans, a biscuit and a medium drink for $6.99. It was good but I didn't feel full. Everyone else opted for wings( five for $7.99). People in line were quite talkative and quite passionate about Popeyes and how happy they were to have one here, so it seems like they have a good customer base. Store is accessible and even during the lunch rush the restroom was clean.

Visit occurred 8/31/16 I filed a complaint with the local public health department after witnessing an employee LICK hot fudge from their fingers and the container before placing a lid on the sundae to pass through the drive-thru window. The health inspector visited Sonic the next day. The location confirmed the incident to the health inspector and via their social media site. The general manger apparently reprimanded the culprit but claimed the young worker was new and it was their first day. Apparently Sonic doesn't train their employees on proper food handling before they handle food. It doesn't appear they take food safety seriously based on prior health inspection reviews. A review of this Sonic's health inspection logs shows several critical violations over the years. My experience was horrifying and completely unacceptable. Obviously, we will never return.
