When we are in a mood to have Breakfast for Dinner - we head to this Waffle House. We like our waffles crisp and they always arrive perfectly crisp. Our only complaint is that they are really getting stingy with the pecans so it doesn't really pay to order a Pecan Waffle - just plain will do it. The staff here are great - they always smile.
We stopped into this restaurant for a quick lunch before starting to run our errands. The staff was very friendly, the entire place was spotless and still shining, and the food was fabulous - very good flavor, fresh ingredients, and full portions. The televisions were on in case I wanted to pay attention to them, but they weren't blaring so that I didn't have a choice in the matter. We were very satisfied with our experience and definitely plan to return.

My wife and I were passing through Madison recently and decided to try Zaxbys for lunch; we needed some finger food to eat while driving. Although I had a bad experience with another Zaxby's years ago, I was well pleased with the Chicken Fingers we had today. These were hot, tender, juicy, and quite tasty. My wife likes the Zax sauce and boy, was she right. The sauce made the chicken taste even better. Since we were passing through, I may have to wait til we get home before I can go back for some more of those great Chicken Fingers.

We opted for a quick dinner and decided to stop at the Firehouse Sub. This was the first time to eat here in several months and I now remember why. Walking in there were only two other customers waiting for their orders. After a wait of just over ten minutes the young man brought our order which was wrong. When I pointed it out he took them back and had them back to us in two minutes while the other two customers were waiting for their orders still. I was somewhat suspicious as to how he got our order back so fast after waiting for ten minutes to get it the first time. My suspicions were right. He just scraped the vegetables off the sandwich, the Italian dressing, and slapped a wad of the wrong meat on the sandwich. I opened up the sandwich and found parts of the vegetables stuck to the cheese, and the dressing I didn't ask for. We didn't bother telling them again because they all went into the back room, slamming stuff around and telling each other to shut up. It was clear there was no management around with the way the employees were acting. As we got up to leave I noticed an overflowing trash can next to the food, and trash on the floor. Nobody ever came out of the back room as we left as they were too busy arguing. We will go back? NEVER

I'm Chinese, love Chinese food, and am a bit biased...With that said, this place is ok. A lot of repeat customers come back for the cheap deals and quick meal, or meal for the week! It's quick fast american style Chinese food. That's it.
While on a road trip with my two grandsons, they commented that had driven past dozens of Waffle Houses on previous vacations, but they had never eaten at one. So, this being a âguys road tripâ ignoring parental limitations and relying on grandpas âgood judgmentâ, we remedied that by going to the Waffle House in Madison AL next to our hotel. It was a late Sunday morning breakfast and when we arrived there was only one parking stall available in the lot so I knew the place was packed. Sure enough all the tables were occupied, but there were 3 seats at the counter; which we took. Of course, we each ordered a waffle â I had a pecan waffle, one of my grandsons had a chocolate chip waffle while the other chose a plain waffle. We each had an order of bacon. Despite how busy it was, our food arrived quickly. My waffle was loaded with pecans and there was an abundance of chocolate chips on my grandsonâs waffle. They were good, large waffles that were hot and very good. The waffles were a âstandardâ waffle so they were a little thinner and denser than a Belgian variety. While the waffles were very good, the syrup was a nondescript maple syrup and nothing out of the ordinary. I was disappointed also that the waffles were not served with butter; but used a butter substitute instead.Because we were sitting at the counter, we had a panoramic view of the staff hustling to make the meals â which was not always a very appetizing sight. It was also obvious that the sink and dish cleaning area was located just across the counter from where we were eating. While this is not always the most pleasant view and surely not part of the contemporary restaurant design, it is the âclassic dinerâ atmosphere that I grew up going to and something that I think makes the Waffle House a unique experience. The Waffle House is an iconic, no frills chain because you know what you get â decent food, quick service at a good price. That is exactly want we experienced at the Waffle House in Madison AL.
